What?
by Roopal Vaish on Nov 18, 2010 07:55 PM

OMG, China is making airplanes! I for one will never travel in them...who knows how long they will last! I don't want to find out the depth of the Atlantic in THAT way.

what the hell

This is a stupid article to start with. This is just a prototype and not some cutting edge technology. Rediff didn't need to publish an article for something like this. The only thing that makes it worse is Rediff dragging this article in to multiple pages and making us click through in anticipation of finding something significant in the next page. Each page has barely a sentence and you have to click like 10 times. This is a cheap trick by rediff to get a few more page hits.

True but having said that it is not that everything has to be invented or discovered. Similarly most of India's stuff is created/manufactured by buying/importing technology. We don't even make computer hardware or even the vast number of software products that are used in India.

When Japan re-started its manufacturing after World War II, its reputation was for poor quality and cheap products. Look at where they are now. So let us not underestimate China's efforts and the strides it is making.

That was the point. You've to click again and again to see if there was something important in the next page. May be your thick brain wouldn't perceive this as a problem but most of the rest of us do.

If population control was so easy as building an aircraft, I think India should also go for it because it is fast overtaking China as the World's Most Populated Country.

by Shaman on Nov 18, 2010 07:19 PM

Who will use them ? If they work like Chinese made Toys, chargers and batteries (may work for one day or a month, God only knows), then send the Chinese first on flight.

What is our problem if China makes and sells one air-craft? It is none of our business..

Spend time on innovation and not jealousy or we will be stuck up in one gold medal, whereas others cross 100..

Only goods imported by India from China are poor quality, what china supplies to the world is better than what is manufactured in us or europe. the question is why does india spend money on poor quality chinese goods. u have to look at the powers to be at the center for an answer

Read again there is a US company who has placed the order.
"US-based GECAS have placed the order for the aircraft".
At least china has done it{I am no fan of china)compared to India who can't even develop a simple 100mm gun which it has buy from a small island called Singapore.
This puts Indian technology to shame.

This small ishland Singapore is the one of the most developed nation in the world. It's area not even size of Bangalore but they spend $5bil on education including innovation, now you imagine in our entire India we don't even allocate $5 for education. So, don't compare Singapore with India, not a single country in Asia can match with it's status in world arena, in terms of least corruption(world no1), Governance (world n0 4), Infrastructure( world No5), Internet connectivity (world no 9), last not the least this is major financial hub, and world's 3rd largest money market. It's export is nearly 2 times higher than what India exports. So, better know the truth before you speak out.
