Right way to spend money - innovate and manufacture
by iron.mask@rediffmail.com on Nov 19, 2010 09:54 AM  | Hide replies

China knows how to make progress. Isn't this what we all had wanted to see happen in India as well? Its sad that the so-called elected leaders do not have the vision that mere individuals in the country have. So much for democratic process, fools on top leading the way to a bright future for India. We got to be super lucky.

But we got to thank the Chinese. Now there in a knee-jerk reaction an effort will be launched to copy what the Chinese did. We should be thankful to China for that. What we can't force our leaders to do, they can. I just hope they pick a sane guy to lead the effort.

And of course we will have some communist fools opposing such efforts. And some other vote mongers wanting to spend more in the money-sucking-but-of-no-use schemes like NREGS

True growth can only be achieved through industrial growth. If we make a sincere effort towards the same, we can swiftly lift the country out of poverty. Instead of that, we have short-term-benefit schemes like NREGS which are draining the wealth of the country.

Your point boils down to the following question:

How much of individual freedom are we prepared to sacrifice for country's development?

Mind you it is country's development and not Nation's development. China is not a welfare state. The demand for growth is minimum ten percent year on year to maintain peace without riots.

China's model is not sustainable development as proven in history in many countries

Mr Hoodi Hoodi,
It sounds like you are a good strategist for India. If you know too much, then you should run for Indian prime minister seat next time. We want to see how you will deal with the Indian affairs.

If India don't grow in future with more then 10 percent GDP then very soon all Asia will become in control of china.
China is already a superpower and 2nd largest Economy in the world.China army is capable to destroy any spy satellites in sky, china has fastest train in the world. India is a very small fry in front of him.
Most powerful country in the world USA is also under 1 trillion debt of China.

A really ambitious effort from China. They made cheap china brand now they want to showcase that the cheap brand can have some high end things as commercial liner. If it clicks it can get the trust of the world as cheap and good quality.

Possible for china since the major companies are government ones and they will order it any way...so by the end of decade or so international companies will opt for. But too early to pronounce 'competition to boeing or Airbus'. They are players from some 70-80 years with lot of experience. Cutting down production cost for Boeing/airbus is easier than China making a great realiable aircraft and marketing it.

But i think it is a good effort by chinese. Instead of envying Indians should grab the opportunity to build contract liners for Boeing and airbus which will have both the company supervised quality and cheap tag from India. Like in cars we should have a strict quality control regime in place.
