Hello, buddy...It is now a hotel, a posh hotel taken over by the Taj Group. It attracts a sizable crowd of tourists despite being in the older part of Hyderabad,
Check the castles of Ireland. They are nay time better than our forts and palaces. In fact the govt of this country has mantained it .But in India we try to destroy the monuments

We had so many palaces of numerous kings and queens in almost every city here in India unlike Ireland that if govt takes the job of restoring palaces, half the gdp will be lost in renovations and maintenance. People like Tatas should come forward n do such jobs.

India is a huge country which is resource stretched. We have more palaces than England Scotland Wales and Ireland put together. With our growing economic power we can now turn our attention to conserving them till then lets not bitch about it and wash our dirty linen in public. Shaju George

I was fortunate to visit Faluknama, it is really wonderful. I bet no other palace in India or Europe can match the might of this Palace. All the interim color borders are coated with gold. It is a rare treasure and will be a major attraction for tourists. I bet no castle in Europe can match the might of this palace as well in India too.
Whenever I see any grand monument in any part of the world, be they the Pyramids in Egypt or the Tajmahal in Agra I get deeply saddened!
All these grand monuments in all parts of the world were constructed at huge expense to satiate the desires of the rulers at the misery of the poor and oppressed.
The pity in the modern world is all the intelligensia around the world keep on eulogising those emperors and rulers for building these monuments.
Surprisingly all these monuments except the Pyramids are built in the medieval period. The earlier periods like that of Ashoka riches were spent on building granaries, dams and tanks to support famine.
Famines were there in the medieval periods also but one ruler wants to beat another in grandeur and has started building these monuments to glorify themselves.
Even the modern day is not different.
Common Wealth Games conduct is similar.
There is no necessity for India to show to the world that it has the riches to conduct the games when actually millions are dying of hunger and farmers committing suicides.
Ditto with China.
If I were the CEO of these countries, I nationalise these monumnents and convert all of them into 5-7 star hotels and the profits will be used to uplift the poor of the nation.
Dont privatise these hotels; nationalise these monuments and make Ashoka hotels under public sector.

yes,the greatest rulers to admire should be the ones who have made their people rich. in this regard the Gulf Arabs have distributed wealth very well amongst citizens..in India in kerala I have seen many ppl are all having own house due to commie unity or whatever.but this is admirable

Don't know who gave input - 50% of Arab countries are damn poor and completely dependent on oil. Remaining 50%, there is no equality of citizens. Royals enjoy and common citizen suffers. Seems to me that you are the dumbest of all in this forum.

buddy,if india had such oil..the money would all be in politicians swiss account and state of country would be just like it is today. firstly gulf has no income tax (indians would def have had income tax),also gulf is giving its citizens right to become silent partner in every business thus enriching their citizens. Also Qatar govt. has given cash grants to extent of $1m even to its citizens. add to this scholarships, free medical plus housing etc and you will realise these guys are far ahead of Indians in THIS REGARD. i know ur tamilian and always criticise without knowing facts..we know u luv ppl sh*tting in front of ur house even and think all TN is gr8..while truth is lot of the place looks like a toiLet dump. i am waiting for ur reply. it better be good you sh*t

but remember the monument builders were doing scientific progress by building new things, too. these scientific discoveries might have had lot of uses for common person. as you can see in world wars..aviation industry grew very fast and made plane travel cheap for common person
