Its alright to state that there was a need to move away from administered pricing mechanism for petrol and petroleum products. However where is the justification for adding all sort of taxation to it such that the onroad price is more than 100% of the actual cost of manufacture. Just so that the oil companies show profits, we are killing the masses. The urban poor takes a bigger hit as the taxes in cities and metros is normally higher. Surely, there is a case to eliminate all taxation on such essential commodities. The Finance ministry can surely live without such taxes for which it gives the spacious argument of need for additional source of revenue to ensure development. We do not have any accountability for ensuring eqanimous distribution of development and such unbridled taxation will only lead to hyper inflation and consequent recession. Today the situation is almost remniscent of the 1970-80 where the so-called socialistic pattern of government left everyone unhappy. Here only the political class and their supporting mafia is happy because they are not affected and continue to line their pockets. The time has come for people to rise in revolt and refuse paying such unjust taxes.

if the more than hundred per cent taxes by all names on petro products is diverted to improve and create good urban transport infrastructure, individual consumption of petro products comes dow. that in turn will lead to reduced consumption, paving way for a better life style by all means! but our government wants to ensure that within the life spans of the present two fellows, namely mani shankar iyer and murli deora, they will make extinct the entire petro reserves, so that the next generation will live on clean fuels like grass and wood!
Whom are the Govt fooling. They always say one thing or the other and only the preson's involved in decision making should be answerable. What nonsense they talk. They are testing the patience of the common man.

in hyderabad, the transport department statistics and the figures issued by the secretariat, prove that twenty eight per cent of petrol and diesel in hyderabad is consumed for government vehicles, which transport less than one per cent of population! can the government ask the twenty eight per cent fellows to use public transport, and save the petro money!
What about the tax component on the Petro products??Cant we discuss the issue on whole..What is the contribution of Govt. expenditure on our economy??Can anybody tell us??How much money is flowing in the so called parallel black market??What are the sincere efforts has been made by the Congress Govt to address these issues??Merely, burdening the common people with every policies what this Govt has done??If they are willing to address the issues in totality..We as an Indian citizen are willing to give our full support to any of the Govt..But not to the people who are just keen to serve his own interest only..It seems that Congress is sponsored by Reliance Industries...atleast in this case..

Why doesn't the government decontrol income tax? Let the employees decide whether to pay tax or not.(like business people).
Our media has become absolutely corrupt. They pring and propgate for what they are paid by big house boys like Ambani's.
Today, virtually, Ambani's are dicatating the Govt. through corrupt measure's with home grown Petroleum Minister and other willing Babu's available at the beck of call.
Unless Madam Sonia Gandhi and Dr.Singh visualiase the damage they are doing it to their pet product "aam aadmi", there is bright chance people of India will start loosing the faith that they imposed on her and her leadership.
She must reign these corrupt media, Industrialist who suck blood of poor "aam aadmi", corrupt Minister and babu's, hoarders supported by Sharad Pawar and BJP; otherwise it would be too late for Indian National Congress to establish it foot-hold in poor India!.
Petrol & Gas price hike is Ambani Bros., coocked goose!.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??????????? who are these people on message board? who are these people...?
Why is our Govenment.let it be any party so adamant on collecting 55% Duty, taxes, cess etc on petrol. Its not that petrol is used by ppl in gold plated cars(Most polaticians can afford one i know). 70% of india's petrol is used up by ppl owing two wheelers.ie the Real Middle Class. And the govt is expecting this section of society to bear such a huge burden.
Now all the saved money by increase in Fuel price can be used by government for corruption. Subsidised money till now was atleast reaching teh common man. Now Government will make more money out of it.
The aim of providing subsidy for any product is to have benefit for the poor people of the country. But in every case, the reality is against the aim. e.g. LPG - Poor people in the country, particularly in rural area is using very meagre quantum of LPG and they are depending on wood, etc. for cooking where as rich people in urban area using LPG only for cooking and they are consuming major quantum and getting the advantage of subsidy. This is the case of petrol, electricity, et.c
The Aam Admi will accept so called deregulation of Petrol price if the government can prove that the announced so called welfare programmes for Poor are reaching to them.
The very fact is that Govt want to generate more & more black money for themself & deposit it in to Swiss Bank.
If our fiscal deficit is so huge why we can not reduce the size of our political system, why there is a heavy burden on common person to carry MP's, Raja Shabha MP's, MLA's etc.
This is nothing but to destroy the Indian economy & Congress is doing that smartly.

50% of petrol, will be being utilized by these MP/MLAs only, from govt pocket. Stop that subsidary first. Further this deregulation of petrol price is welcome, subjected to deregulating it from all Govt taxes first...
