The symbol is created by a Tamil Nadu guy to show unity amongst Indians, and respecting our Northen India. There are either foreigners here who are purposely fueling disharmony amongst Indians. All Indians Please be careful with them
Initially I too took the symbol to be just a bias representation of the Hindi letter, like many other comments pointed out. However, take another closer look. It also shows a part of the English letter R. Moreover, the letter in Sanskrit, the great mother of all indian languages and many indo-european languages, is also represented! The Tamil letter (another great Indian language) is also not really different if I am right. It is just too much asking for to represent all the languages in India. I am happy since the all the major ancient Indian languages are represented, especially Sanskrit.
Imagine a 5 member jury and union cabinet (many of them not may be even educated in Bharat; they may be referring to their country as INDIA i.e. BHARAT) deciding the symbol for Rupee, while there is no participation in selection process of people of BHARAT i.e.INDIA !
