MANY IITISAN WERE A PART OF INNOVATING THE DESIGN OF THE CHIPS IN THE COMPUTER YOU ARE TYPING THIS NONSENSE...

u r the biggest idiot ever i've come accross.. dont u understand a simple thing that even for making a spaceship.. you require simple basic thoughts which in future compiles into a complex structure.. never underestimate the basics..
I am glad that a Indian has done this but unfortunately this not an innvoation/discovery. Cars that are powered by compressed air have already been invented, patented and are being used the world over, especially at airports. Tata Motors has now tied with one such company to source in 20000 engines, if all goes well we should see a air car this being launched by Tata.

Think how much Tata's would have spent in designing that car? minimum 100s of crores with so many engineers.
Here is a SSC drop out developing a compressed car is very admirable even enviable!!

Sanford the question is not of a particular innovation but many of them as shown in the article. I do not know of many in the world who has done innovations in his backyard without much help from standard laboratory. You should not get fixed with one particular car run on compressed air but look into the multitude of innovations done by this genius. I also fail to understand your definition of innovation which needs to be different from inventions.

by Sanford Dsouza on Jul 15, 2010 02:25 PM
Soumik,
If you read my comment carefully I only refer to the compressed air car. Car's were developed more than a 100 years ago now thats invention and powering a car with an alternate source of energy (air) i.e. innovation/invention. But not in this as it is alreay done before and also commercialised. Nowhere have I said that the guy is not innvoative...he is in his other ideas. I guess this explains.

reply to alll.... Sanford... u brainless man... wish this man & help him... dn't b a crab..
I didn understand whats this hype about? what innovation he has done? even a ten year old Japanese guy will make better cycles! The amazing part is he does not want to commercialize and to share the benifits to the needy. It seems like he just want to earn some fame and some government recognitions. To add to that none of his "inventions" are are productive or commercialy viable. rediff please stop publishing these kind of crap!!

Kindly point which 10 year old Japanese has done something like this? It takes guts of steel to do something like this and keep going despite no encouragement from people around. Rahul, please learn to appreciate things better.

it just wanted to address the way indians think of innovation!. we have a totaly wrong appraoch . see what chandrayan by ISRO is doing . they are doing what americans and russinas did in 1960s and boast about being built it indigenously.Really what we are doing is trying to satisfy our ego..thats all!!

People like you are a joke. Do u have the guts or the brains to do such a thing. You can only criticize others work and try to glorify the foreigners.
Re: Re: What Innovation??
by rahul vij on Jul 15, 2010 11:31 AM
Ok fine. tell me what is the outcome of this innovation. Is he going to release the products in the market and make it available to needy at a much lesser cost??.. what is he trying to do? he is jus proving that he can also make some stuff?? but anyone compared or test the quality of product he made? Anybody can make a prototype but to make it successful in the market very few can do!

Dear Rahul, kindly chill-out. If you can't do it does not mean you put-down others who can? Do not spread your negativity, pessimism and unwarranted egoistic banter. Do take this personally.

Why are u thinking like a product manager in google or microsoft or Toyota? Just limit your thinking upto encouraging others.Thousands of such people gets inspired from him and ultimately a day may come every one start making their own gadjets and using them

@rahul viji, come on man now would you be kind enough to mention wht you have done in tis filed. YOu cant even appriceate a talent and people like you are the reason for India beeing like tis, while the japanees and chineese products hit indian market. If we dont stop this habbit of ours then the future wont be fair enough
Re: Re: What Innovation??
by rahul vij on Jul 15, 2010 11:47 AM
well what I am trying to say is we dont need dabblers we need people who can contribute in making the best of products which can stand the strong cpmpetition from japanese, americans and germans!!Only then India would be considered as leding innovator. Mr Gogoi should join indian firms like TATA or Mahindra and help them in creating future products rather saying the he wont get the name for all these things and keeping his "innovation" to himself!

Hey Mr Rahul the *FOOL did u read the article fully? That is the problem without even reading the full article *foolish guys start commenting like netas. In short: He has already approached TATAs and they said they will speak to there GM and get back to him which they never did (Same thing ego problem: how can some one be better than me? i am a PhD and he not even a Diploma holder so just kick him off)
Instead of going around the world and living austere lives at tax payer's money, I would appreciate if our government and political leaders spend our hard earned money to support creative talents as Gogoi. It is hard time that India put some money for R&D and encourage creative innovations. We have infinite talent waiting to be tapped in India. Also our Indian Inc. (Corporates) should come forward and support such people who otherwise may be quickly exploited by the west to make billions for their own country. Rather it will be a dream come true if the Indian talent is harnessed in India and India exports such Green technologies to world and make Billions....a WIN-WIN situation. Indian corporates should learn to respect talent and pay such innovators good compensation and respect that they deserve. After all it will be they who will earn Billions...from the world.
People like Kanak Gogoi are exactly the type that our engineering and defence establishments need..in order to catch up to the developed nations and be a superpower in time, India needs to look closely at homegrown talent rather than just importing technology that takes billions of dollars to procure and maintain..If anyone is watching this space (read: Defence Department) people like Kanak Gogoi can be a real boon to India's indigenisation program
Best of persons like Einsten, Bill gates and many many greats were a drop out only difference was they were not in India. Wish u all the luck and also expect some sanity to develop in India to appreciate your innovation, hardwork and dedication.

whatever it is .. its low-cost and its effective ... why dont u build a better one and then talk... such an idiot ... yourself you bashi bazouk!!
He completed his basic education. Thats all is needed for a human being to be able to innovate. How many of us BE's invent something like this? I hope his inventions find business opportunities and enables him to do some more innovations
Re: Why is called a dropout?
by Ramasubramaniam Iyer on Jul 15, 2010 12:18 AM
After BE our next aims are always get into IT or do MBA and get into big banks. BE education is lost.
Eg Every BE today (Mechanical/Chemical/Civil/Electronics) all do some IT courses and do IT software development in fields not even remotely related to their field.
