you are apreciating the pride on his face but surprisingly did not realise that it is a big example of CHILD LABOUR. at a point where you should have been criricising our political system for letting this happen, you are appreciating your bengal!!!!

Time for a change !!
by honest on Jul 14, 2010 04:30 PM  | Hide replies

My heart bleeds when each of these stories come to my notice. What are the politicians doing . Pawar & Gandhi make crores of rupees on each deal. Don't their hearts go out to these helpless souls ? Ambani's , Birla's, Tata's, Shahrukhan, Dhoni (bagged 200 crore deal) etc all have money to buy private jets , maybach's , expensive apartments etc but have no social obligation , ethics or human values to help the needy. I think its time the common man takes things in his own hands. There is need for a revolution in India !!

Why do you need proof of Mr. Honest action. Why don't you become the torch bearer in such a just cause. Mr. honest thoughts have to be respected as thoughts precede action!

Stop trying to have a stupid revolution for every stupid thing. This boys never say die spirit is what should be appreciated. Ambani's Birlas also came up from their own hardwork and already provide employment to so many people. What more do you want them to do? This boy may become a Ambani, Tata or Birla who knows. His face shows such Solid determination.

There is no democratic government in west bengal, it is Communist govt. which is borne for the sake of poor and to fight for the poor. But in Indian senario of politics, parties are different by name but same in mentality i.e. to come to power by some slogans and neglect the people whether poor or middle class till futher elections. Be it congress, communist or Trinamul or any party; it is off the people, far the people after elections and buy the people at time of elections.

Govt wants to eradicate child labor and other side they increase the price of food grains so much that poor ppl had to make these decision. this is definetly bad on them. they should control prices. if not poor will remain poor.

rediff can only post news items. They are not involved at all. No point waiting. Better contact a noble NGO who would help you help poor. If you want I can suggest a few names.

Don't trust NGOs. Most are fraud. They siphon of money from donors for their own gain.

while I pity those kids who do labor jobs to earn their livelihood, most of the child labor and poverty is attributed to having more than one child, when the parents are doing labor jobs (unsecured). even in this case, his father was working in a jute factory having three kids... even if his job was still there, would he provide education to all the kids while running his day today expenses?
and if we only pronounce to stop child labor, would the government take care of all thos children with free food, shelter, attire and education? or how many so called white collar NGO's or big corporates would come forward for this?
first we should be within our means - satisfy with one kid which will allow us to nurture by also controlling the ever increasing population...
