Bihar has moved on
by Tom on Jan 06, 2010 07:05 PM  | Hide replies

Bihar has moved on passing through various phases.. Kisan Sabhas, JP movement, Mandalisation etc to have social equality. The post mandal period saw increasing aspiration of the people to have a better livelihood and amenities. There is a long way to go. There are still deprived sections (naxals) who have restored to violence.

Bihar has changed India many times. Fighting Alexander, to Ashoka, to buddha's enlightment, mangal pandey to gandhi's clothing(changed after his visit to champaran), quit india movement launching (all positive). Lalu yadav and mandal movement, maoist movement (all negative). I think It is now the Time for Positive change.

Social & not political

The changes needed in Bihar are on social level, wherein social reformers should urge people to maintain a standard of ethics and abide by some priciples.

Industrialisation can happene through political means but it can be sustained only through social means.

Bihar is a state blessed with abundant natural resources. You name the resource and it is present in the state.

However, these resources were never exploited productively. Instead it became a tool for malpractices and corruption.

Go to Dhanbad and you will see the real story. The coal mafia is in full swing during broad day light.

A change in ethics and priciples will do a lot of good to Bihar.

Had you ever been to Dhanbad in past few years ?

Not only in day light, even in the dark nights also, means whenever there is a fear of getting victimised of any gang war in Mumbai, Dhanbad is under full control of Jharkhand.

Now could you tell me, why so many gangs exist in Mumbai. Do they fight for doing better social service ?

Hey Biharis, Don't laugh.

agree with you.

bihar also suffers from a bad press by the rest of india.

Everybody and anybody who knows a lot/ little/ nothing launch (equally)into a bad propaganda on the state of Bihar.

A prosperous and developed Bihar will reduce the load on the cities of Mumbai/ Delhi/Kolkata.

this has potential , can do.. vision 2020 are terms we live in rather than in reality..esp people who come up with such articles..
being optimistic doesn't make any sense when the ground realities are absurdly poor
