Nothing is happening in India?
Every Technology is imported.
If import of Technology is banned, India will go to Stone Age.

I think you are living in Stone Age. You are probably visualising India of 1985.

I agree with MGR. We are too busy to boast of little achievements we make. Always looking for credit right away and finding ways to achieve short cut success so we look good instantaneously even at the cost of loosing quality in longer periods. Part of it is culture and social pressure. Indian culture sucks as far as innovation or crativity is concerned.

India higher education system is the 3rd largest in the world, aft
by Loga on Feb 11, 2010 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

India higher education system is the 3rd largest in the world, after China and USA. Indian students are better in math and science then china and USA students because more stress on math and scince is given in India then other countries.USA students are more successful then Indian students because they are more out spoken do well in class and outside class too only because they are more effective speakers. In the Indian system, individuals are not asked to stand up infront of the whole class and recite something. Instead, the whole class reads books out aloud together in unison. This allows more timid students to participate and overcome their fear of public speaking. In USA education system is designed in such a way that nearly everyone can pass the high-school level this leads to lowering the standards at the high school but in India is not same.Indian education and social systems are very hard on kids and completely ignore their feelings, opinions and ambitions. Kids are pushed to study from the age of 3 and non-performers are treated as ostracized by parents and society.Overall high school system in the US leaves students at a disadvantage when compared to their peers in India,Indian education is overall better atleast till the undergraduate degree and for engineering. However, graduate programs in the US are probably far ahead of most other countries due to the critical mass they have and the fact that they attract the best students and faculty from all over the world.

Stress on Maths/Science may be there, but application of Maths/Science is woefully inadequate.

Creativity or innovation is weak in our education system. We develop good memory skills, remmeber big equations, formulas and able to solve them effectively. But when it comes to real life you need to apply them effectively and if required need to develop some innovation to be able to make it work. And we exactly fall behind in application. Too much stress is not good for innovation. You need to have some space in mind to relax and then creativity or innovation will originate, and unfortunately we do not have time or patience to let our mind think that way, all the time pushing each other competing heavily to get good grades somehow. The system is good at lower level but to achieve top goals t higher level we lack big way.

India ranks 105 among 128 countries in Education for All Global Monitoring Report 2010(UNESCO). India's growth has certainly not benefited the vast majority in the country.
