Dont fall for the Hype
by Vivek Jaiswal on Feb 13, 2010 09:45 AM  | Hide replies

Dont Fall for the Hype

Just step outside any one of these air-conditioned offices offices; the slums of Dharavi, the footpaths of Bombay, the back streets of old Delhi; the bustees in Calcutta and Howrah, the powerless cities of Uttar Pradesh and then you will know the reality of India. Don't let a few well written words of self praise lull You into a self of complacency. India has a million miles to go before it can consider itself to be in any way developed or competitive with the rest of the world.

Keep that so called sayings abt hype to yourself

Just because there are a few bad sheeps that does not mean the good sheeps cannot be celebrated.

Problems will be there in all nations, no nation is free of it. India has its share, but it is also true that there has been impressive achievements and this is one of them

A disgruntled fellow like you who is a failure cannot digest the same. It is better if u clean your stables.

rakesh ur question is genuine but take a ok upon vivek jaiswals answer. i am agree with his view about there is a long way to go. it is just a starting. just think we got our freedom 60 year back so we as india started our journey just 60 year back and invensions rakesh talking about were invented a long way back. i am agree only 35% of india is part of this growth not remaining 65% but statistic r changing very fast n see in coming time youth will lead all over india terchnology politics research n many more.
with this desire and hope i end up with my answer

Tanwar, i agree with what u say. I know that India has still some way to go before being clubbed with US and others.

The fruits of development might not have reached all, but there is no denying that much progress has been made and the nation is on a excellent growth curve. The way Vivek painted it is disgusting. Which nation does not have problems.Even in USA and UK, there is poverty, people live on footpaths and many are homeless who stay in homeless shelters living on Govt aid.likewise in Japan and so on.

I agree that with tech and other modern aids, people who have not tasted prosperity will do so and the coming years will see India lift many more out of that cycle.

Siddarth, i am glad that u saw my point. I am not saying that things are very rosy in India, but the way Vivek painted it was what ruffled me.

Certainly India has a long way to go, but we have come a long way despite formidable problems. India is such a diverse nation with so many groups and we have to carry along each group respecting their sentiments and so on.

Our achievements are pretty impressive and there is no doubt that India will make it in coming years, not thousands, but a mere say fifty years or so. And the youth of this nation will make it happen.

This shows how good you are at knowing our ancient scriptures and cultural values. I wish you could have tried to know what the four vedas contain in them. Our ancestors have calculated astronomical events & occurences centuries back before telescope was invented. We knew earth was round and sun was at the centre of our system and hence sun worship os an imporatnt aspect of our culture. Most of the traditional ritruals had scientific reasons in them. Its us fools who have forgaotten their reasonings and logic and are fighting against each other for stupid things. MUsical compostions, mathematical exponentiations, architecturural concepts, relating agriculture and astronomical data to forecast rains an dtime of harvest, Medicinal formulations, first surgery in history was done by SUsrutha and most of the modern surgical knifes and scalpels are similar to the descriptions found in his books.......Above all Our ancestors were more focused on inner self discovery....it is these concepts that the western philosophists, selfimprovement experts and writers are using to earn millions of dollars and we will look at them open mouthed and awestruck unaware of the fact that all these are lying in our country unnoticed......
