Is this an euphemism for saying that he used contacts to get through the red-tapism of those days and work around legalities (however idiotic they may have been at the time)? Wonder what would have happened to an entrepreneur, who started around the same time as Mr.Sankar, but without the so called good will. Must have been tough indeed.

Mr. Sankar had always impressed me as a fine Sportsman keenly interested in Tennis and Cricket and have seen him and admired him from a distance at Chepauk. A couple of my close friends who are close to him have of course, narrated a lot about his shrewd business acumen, work culture and capabilities. Heading Assocham successfully was no mean achievement at a crucial period in the country's Economic growth. My second job was in Sanmar Group for about 2 years in a JV. Employees were so friendly and with a homely atmosphere. I am proud to say that I also hail from his native.
