Petrol and diesel price hike
by chandra shekar on Dec 08, 2010 06:13 PM  | Hide replies

Good. People will think twice to come on roads without any work. You can not just ride bikes for the heck of it and create traffic jams and chaos. Only those who are earning and office goers or with a particular purpose will be on the roads . Everybody is earning these days not particularly ONGC employees

Mr.Chandra shekar was refering to only one of the aftermath of the price rise . not all !

its like encouraging the common public to use more of public transport !!
but yes the prices of essential commodities , consumables wil also increase drastically , its another issue

If you want to encourage public transport, then increase road TAX Vehicle TAX make it a burden to own a vehicle. But you can not hit common people like this by increasing the basic costs of transportation. GOI is hitting directly on the common man's stomach... Pathetic GOI... Looks like the British RAAJ is BACK in India.... We need another Gandhiji to STOP this.

By the way, have you ever tried travelling by public transport in Mumbai, if yes then you would not have made this comment for burdening people to own a vehicle.

The Oil Companies always have profit
by Indian on Dec 08, 2010 06:10 PM  | Hide replies

Even after crores of loss reported, these oil company owners and employees get hefty sums and salaries. eg: Ambanis reached this position mainly becoz of oil business.

it is not loss but loss in profit. For example if the profit is expected 20,000 CR, they are getting 12,000 CR. This is loss in profit of 8,000 CR.

Reliance has invested in both the Congress and the BJP !

Neither deals with that biggest thief independent India has seen the way it should be dealt with ! Both parties handle Reliance with kid gloves and keep relaxing regulation after regulation, extend benefit after undue benefit and even introduce bills for the exclusive benefit of Reliance !!

A much more fruitful way (for the exchequer) would be to discontinue all undue and illegal benefits the Reliance 'empire' is enjoying !!

The difference to the exchequer would be in tens of thousands of crores !!

If you don't want the public to use private vehicles, Let govt charge only those people... Let them hike TAX on vehicles...

WHY hit common man with hike in hikes in transportation ? This directly afdfects common people. The price of every commodity is going to be hiked due to transport costs.
