what is white and black money, the government wishes to shelter, a parallel economy, by high taxation.
if correct mms was fm, the gold smuggling stopped, just 45rs per gram taxation. the problem permanently vanished.
the job of economist, he must do as his way, but the folly is person in elected government start teaching him which way to do, then what happens we start drawing elephant, it ends up as drawn look like monkey.
mms we are there with u, do in intrest of what is good to our nation, do not please, allies. even it cost u badly.

Why we are poor ? we are poor due to lack of education, lack of health system, lack of proper administration, lack social network, we are too much selfish society, we think too muck about of our family , nothing more, we have no intigraty, we do not love our country too much, we are poor due to castism, religious fundamentalism, too much religion centric society, more dividation in the society, no openness in the society, we do not do our duty in the office, we have corrupt, selfish, politician, one child policy is not factor here look kerala, why there is reduceing population growth as because there empowered the women, made the society too much educated, dedicated health service, completed the land reform, public overall dedicated in the office, similarly we go to Utterpradesh picture at there will be different, more more corrupt officer, selfish socity, no power to women, minimum helth service, no social infrastructure, all are too much fimily centric, above are the real cause for more proverty and more population, more corruption,

If arrested, these money can cover few five years planning for free education, free health care, free food for all.

Inheritance laws accelerate polarization of wealth and oppertunit
by adess singh on Apr 25, 2010 04:55 PM

India has laws on inheritance that allows for all accumulated wealth to be passed on to the next generation. This coupled with the Asian obsession with ones family makes a free man into a 'dynastic slave' where all his actions are focused towards a singular end of bequethig more and more wealth to his progeny. THIS IS THE BASIS OF ALL CORRUPTION IN OUR SOCIETY.
Inheritance is a facility granted by civilized society to an individual but when it takes on its pathological form it begins to break down the very society from which it draws its exestiance.
Many countries in the worl have very tough inheritance laws and these are the countries with the highest standard of living like the Scandanivian countries.
IT IS TIEM WE CHANGED OUR INHERITANCE LAWS BEFOR ITS TOLATE AND OUR SOCIAL FABRIC IS TORN APART BY THE SEVEAR PLOIRIZATION OF WEALTH AND OPPERTUNITY THEAT THE CURRENT LAWS ENCOURAGE.

Which way are we going?
by mallaiah anchoori on Apr 25, 2010 04:51 PM

And yet we call ourselves as a developing Nation;this is sheer hypocrisy.Like in some of the western states,a small percentage of the of the tax payer's money should be earmarked exclusively for the education instead of its being allotted & allocated from the general annual budget.Unless there is awakening of people to various facets of Indian economy which is possible only with proper education, there is no use in making a big hue & cry by all the politicians. It is disgrace that, despite very loud sounds & beating the trumpets of their own by all the political parties or the govts they formed, the poverty rate should register such a steep rise.It indicates as to where we stand & to which direction we are going.People's standard of living cannot be said to have improved or increased mere by use of electonic devices such as computers,ACs,cars. The real development lies in all peoples' getting two square meals,a shelter to live & sufficient cloth to cover their body.Seeing the surge in the number of the neo rich of whom most are tax evaders,we are illusioned that we are very fast towards development. But the fact remains that we are where we were; instead,we appear to be retrograding the primitive days.It is to be remembered well that unless we improve our degenerating value system, all the so called developmental tasks will be be set at naught.Figures compiled can be twisted by the rulers according to their convenien

Population explosion must b controlled
by Ram Sharma on Apr 25, 2010 04:21 PM

Population explosion is one of the reasons of poverty in the country. We must adopt Chinese system of one child norm, adopted in 1979 by them. But our political rulers r not bothered about this problem. In my city one person is said to hv 81 children with 7 wives! Our population growth is 1.6% compared to 0.6% of China and world average of 1.2%.

To reduce poverty, move towards linguistic nations
by Rajesh Tripathi on Apr 25, 2010 09:10 AM  | Hide replies

Poverty in India can only be reduced if we head towards linguistic nations, from the present linguistic states. If people of different languages keep living together, most of the GDP will be used up in keeping the nation together, leaving very little for poverty alleviation. Linguistic nations, therefore, is the need of the hour. This will free us from internal strife, and also create smaller manageable nations. Our Hindi nation will still be fairly big comprising ten Hindi states (UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, and Himachal), but it will be much more manageable than the present day India which is simply ungovernable, and is no one's baby.

Re: To reduce poverty, move towards linguistic nations
by some one on Apr 25, 2010 09:23 AM

Poverty in India is not due to economic causes but social causes. Administrative measurees will not remove it though they might create an impression of improvement. Any such improvement is with the condition that mass poverty should not go away or be threatened with going away.

Indians do not wish to remove poverty because they are brought up in a culture which beleives in extreme deprivation of the many for the supposed social betterment of the few. No one knows how to remove these habitual, inherited thoughts that continue to be carried forward from generation to generation.

Communist armed revolution like the Chinese one was theoretically one possible solution, but the same social reasons make it nearly impossible for it to happen.

After all none among the decision making class of people want that poverty should go away. They are unwilling to be deprived of the presence of massive numbers of utterly destitute and deprived people all around all the time.

West & south India will be developed nation as all states of south India & west India are developed.
But for north & east India (mainly hindi speaking) poverty will increase by million times as all non productive population resides in those states.
