ah the sexy dollar

they are looking at our population as a huge market and we are looking at dollars. The world is very strange indeed. Probably they deserve the former, because they are willing to work hard and we are just willing to crib hard.

Ban American Goods
by vijaya kumar on Mar 07, 2009 02:59 PM  | Hide replies

Time has come to play tit for tat game.. Indians shud think twice before buying american products. VIZ, coke, Pepsi, kentucky, pizza, Macdonals, Hollywood movies,
Microsoft, HP, DeLL, Boeing,etc..
Then naturally these giants will force their president not to implement the policies effecting india directly or indirectly.

well let us start by making americans clear that any new nuclear power plants to be constructed by India would be done by France and Russia also US would not be given preferance in new multibillion dollar arms to be purchased by India. This would be good start by India to make americans a signal.

I am sure this leads to trade war and in turn lead to cold war and in turn lead to world war3.
World war3 would decide the next powerful country.

Instead of doing the above things if every country follow the bilateral trade, there would not any issue and the world would be peace. Obama should understand this basic and fundamentals instead of speaking always.

American Politics
by paki killer on Mar 07, 2009 02:58 PM  | Hide replies

This is just political speak from Obama. The American economy is so intertwined with economies of India and China that its very difficult if not impossible to stop outsourcing.

The current economic crisis is a classic case of greed and over-consumption which is a very American phenomena. Obama must not forget that the luxuries that the Americans enjoy is courtesy hard working migrants from all over the world.

This is classic American double standards and I am quite sure propelled by a populist agenda.

so what makes you think that India cannot work with other countries in software.. don't underestimate Indian private sector. Many companies had long realised over dependence on US and had consciously tried to diversify their business...

There should be bilateral trade between any nations. Saudi, India and other eastern european nations imports weaponna exports oil, and IT technologies to US. By making this we follow bilateral trade.

Obama should understand this basic concept. US has $300 billion trade deficit with China. If he is a worthy president, he will fix it otherwise he is guy with big mouth and no actions

US must attack India to get back all jobs outsourced to India
by Krishna reddy on Mar 07, 2009 02:53 PM  | Hide replies

Due to this outsourced jobs only a section of people become rich and they increased rental, real estate prices. Ordinary people can't afford to rent or buy properties. Obama and other rich countries must take back all outsourced job from India

Let us all be poor

I think you are mad. Either you would be a wealthy landlord or rich politician plundered all the poor's wealth.

IT field made India as proud nation and this field increased India's GDP. If this field is affected then we have to go to 80s where no one got job and were in dark.
This will make Pakistan, taliban and other terrorist to make their job easy in attacking India.

Please keep your mouth and other parts shut.

Are ! Bewakoof ! You leave that mind set. Many jobs were created at lower level - like cab drivers, house keeping, security, motor mechanics, construction workers etc.. etc.., which you are not able to see for yourself. Without the soft dollors that would not have been possible. Till 1 year back if you wanted to work you had work. Now it is not the same. Ordinary people need mot buy properties in high fi areas.

America borrows for it's daily maintenance
by Vira on Mar 07, 2009 02:50 PM

It is reported that the balance of payment crisis in the US is so grave that the country as a whole is going for bankrupty. If one has to be believed, the government borrows 3 billion USD each day from the world bank and IMF just to keep it's economy in it's state as of today. Their main exports are defence equiment. In a world which is fast becoming flat, there is no need of spending trillions of dollars for defence.

They then invest that borrowed money to bail out companies in bad debts. What is left of that borrowed money is invested in CHina from where they import goods which the common man buys using his credit card. The BORROWING and eat economy won't survive long unless they take some drastic steps. As a result of all this , they want to do stuff themselves and keep outsiders away. The H1B is just a beginning. We will see lot of more in near future.
