Counterfeit notes
by Nakul Awsare on Jun 29, 2009 10:43 AM

I feel this is a serious issue as very often cash withdrawn by ATM's of nationalised and multinational banks like HSBC fake currency comes out. Banks should take a lot of precautions in this matter.

General public in fear
by dipen chakrabarti on Jun 29, 2009 10:20 AM

This is a very serious issue of fake currency notes.Srict and prompt action should be taken by RBI and banks to find and collect those fake notes. When withdrawing money from ATM ,me and other general public , as a habit does n't everytime check the notes throughly but we count the notes wheather the amount we have typed as same as the amount we have got.By mistake if any fake note comes to our hand then we may have to face police harrasments.
I request to concerned authorities to take strict action regarding this issue.Intelligence agencies should be very much alert to tackle this kind of problems. Why Indian general public should suffer due to some culprits ?Why Indian intelligence should lack in the understanding and resolving the issue promptly rather then the developed nations?

FAKE MONEY
by Dwaraka Nath on Jun 29, 2009 09:52 AM

GOVT. SHOULDE SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITY AND EVEN IF IT COSTS, SHOULD DEMONITISE RS.500 AND RS.1000 CURRENCY NOTES BY ASKING PEOPLE TO SURRENDER TO BANKS IN A TIME BOUND MANNER. BANKS ALSO SHOULD BE ASKED TO TAKE COPIES OF ADDRESS PROOF AND PAN CARD COPIES WHO WISH TO EXCHANGE IN A BANK WHERE THEY DO NOT HAVE ACCOUNT. THIS STEP WILL NOT ONLY KILL THE COUNTERFIET NOTE MAKERS AND ALSO BRING OUT HUGE BLACK MONEY IN CIRCULATION IN THE COUNTRY. IN ONE STROKE GOVT. CAN STREAMLINE THE ECONOMY.

RBI
by arungopal agarwal on Jun 29, 2009 09:47 AM

If security of notes are breached as admitted by RBI, RBI should shoulder responsibility and compensate the poor public who is using it as original one, instead of feeling harrassment and fear of law.

More use of Debit/Credit cards should be encouraged
by Deepak Khanna on Jun 29, 2009 09:36 AM

I think the only viable way to fight fake currency stuff(another way of ISI to tease India) is to encourage people to use their debit/credit cards especially debit cards(since not everyone owns a cc but most people do have a bank accouint). This will nullify the effect of the fake currency not business to a large extent. Maybe introducing a law whereby any transaction above 800-900 Rs should be done via cards. This will not only check the fake currency business but also control the black money people.

U P IS THE ENTRY POINT FOR COUNTERFEIT NOTES FROM NEPAL.
by cskar maniac on Jun 29, 2009 09:33 AM  | Hide replies

it is very clear that without the connivance of the politicians, counterfeit notes can not come into circulation in India,.

U P chief minister Mayavati is deliberately pushing counterfeit notes into this country, by amending the local police law, which has reduced the powers of special border police to search and sieze authority from 5 K M distance to 2 K M dist.from the NEPAL BORDER.

the centre rule is 5 K M from border, but the then home minister Shiv RAJ Patil kept MUM on this issue.

the Media of T V and Papers raised this issue for ONE DAY--YES--ONE DAY and then totally kept quiet ,for reasons best known to them. may be they were given bundles of these notes by state and central Govt.

the result, YOU and I will suffer.
