India a super power during vedic ages.
by JACK on Aug 24, 2009 08:55 PM  | Hide replies

India was a super power during vedic ages, thats why we came out with original stuff such as auyerveda, yoga, vedas. But today india and some indians are so selfish. we are spending or wasting our time watching bakwas bollywood movies and that silly game called cricket thus making those movie stars and cricketers crorepatis. Everywher u see on tv on bill boards its them. Aren’t there any other heroes in india. Aise role models india mein hai to india ka kya haal hoga. Instead of watching cricket and Hollywood copied hindi movies we should be finding out ways to conserve water, so that we don’t have monsoon problems every year. And we should make role models of our scientist our jawans, our honest brave policemen and not those USELESS movie stars and cricketers, who only know to fil their own pockets. Also we are kissing western ass and copying everything western. See even the dancers in movies are white. Cant v be original?? There are to indias one of elite comprising of businessmen, movie stars, , cricketers etc. who look down upon the aam admi. During French revolution the poor went to the queen to ask for bread, she told them to have cake. Our Indian elite are like thalt queen. Unke paas roti nahin hai to cake khane do. They have this attitude.

Jai Hind

Thats a good point, Jack. I have lived outside India for a decade now, but still keep up with cricket, movies etc. The first thing I notice when I watch those programs, is that the ads are dominated by just 10-15 people.

I mean, you could bet money that the next ad is going to have either of the top 5 movie stars or the top 3 cricketers.

No funny or thoughtful ads, but for one or two exceptions here and there.

The culture of idol worship is alive and kicking in India, be it movies, arts, sports or politics.

Real stars are our jawans and kisans, who r toiling to keep the power for all of us to speak all this. These are meaningless discussion unless there is hardwork for it and there is no shortcut.

My friend, U possibly know what happened to that French Queen and King (Louis XVI), and they were put to Gelotine. And that started the French Revolution and also the ended the Monarchy.
I don't understand why Indians are obsessed with Cricket, just to show slavery towards the British Masters. how many countries play Cricket, only the handful of countries once ruled by Britain, as part of the Commonwealth. And Hindi Movies R not Movies, they R Extremely Boring Videos, mostly 3 or more hours long, also it shows people don't have any work but watch such craps to waste time and mind. What a Great Waste of Mind.

To maintain 9% GDP growth for next 10 years is also not a big dea
by raj on Aug 24, 2009 08:36 PM

8% - 9% growth in next 10 years will help India to reduce poverty and become a economic powerhouse.
India is able to achieve 7%-9% GDP growth from last 18 years and to To maintain 9% GDP growth for next 10 years is also not a big deal.
India is already a world leader in BPO and KPO and emerging very fast as major R&D center of the world.

Hahahahaaaa.

Good joke.

You cannot walk on road without stepping on sh.it or sp.it.

You cannot go out without being harrassed by beggers and hijras.

You cannot get into good school with 90% marks because you belong to Forward caste while a 40% mark SC guy gets the seat.

You cannot even get your hard earned degree without paying bribe.

I cannot rubbish the views of "SaneIndian". They are not entirely false.

I accept sentiment is everything and we have to stay positive but "Economic Power" is kind of far fetched.

But "Savings" factor in India, Japan, Germany will see these economic turmoil through. Of late many youngistaan are toeing anything western without applying judgement which is dangerous

Superpower
by talk fame on Aug 24, 2009 07:55 PM  | Hide replies

I definitely think India has the potential to be a world power but we are far from it to be honest. Before we think about super power, let us think about the following;

1) Contain population
2) Improve infrastructure
3) Provide basic education to all.
4) Improve sanitation, hygeine etc.
5) Plant trees
6) Be courteous towards environment,people

Thanks

No.1. Eliminate the corrupt/criminal individuals at all political/bureaucratic levels.
No.2. Flush out their Swiss bank accounts
No.3 Strengthen the law and order.
No.4 Facilitate the armed forces.
No.5 Secure/tighten the geographical borders.

Then do the above said by talk fame....

But all these will never happen atleast in the next 275 years....by then the doomsday would have already dawn upon India....

economic power is good , but...
by Dev on Aug 24, 2009 05:43 PM

it must benefit all sections of country. just being perceived as a power by other countries is not much use.
India must juggle capitalism, import-substitution, innovation, grassroot economies, welfare state, green state etc.
we must have a system that has many facets and can adapt.
Western economies are not perfect models.

by Mulayam Singh on Aug 24, 2009 05:32 PM

The indian people who have been employed by foriegn western powers often give sweeping and nonsense statements that only defies logic. Most of them have reached high positions in US and other markets due to political connection with indian govt. They serve the via media for western Govts to find out loopholes in our system sothat theses govts can easily rule over us or do a profitable business with them. Why could not these so called intellect people on service in western corp predict economic gloom in us CHINA BRITAIN,THAT THEY ARE TELLING US WE WILL BE ECONOMIC POWER IN TEN YRS OR SO.Saying so also serves the inerest of american govt
