Poor yet Meritorious cannot be ignored forever
by devendra banerjee on Sep 19, 2008 03:34 AM  | Hide replies

While granting reservation on quota basis in various institutions or jobs etc.,there is no provision in our constitution to stake efficiency in Administration and allow reservation. So,efficiency comes first & foremost.
There are many meritorious students who because of poverty cannot persue higher eduction..Full many a flower is born to blush unseen. If reservation was done on merit cum poverty basis Indian manpower would have been better utilised.
This scheme will give ointment to some of the many injured....Welcome change in stance

Everybody should find out their castes and vote accordingly

UPA,Mayawati,laloo,mulayam- OBC's ,SC/ST's,muslim,christains,sikhs ... (90% of the population)

NDA- Brahmins ,baniya (10% of the population)

for a strong ruling party and opposition

Idiot people like you are ruining the country. You people don't want to face the competition, just want to get a job on the basis of caste and kill the talent.
Lazy people..shame on you!

1000 yrs of this so called "high level" competition has done nothing for 90% of the population of this country . People have just looted the benefits and run away to other countries.
Now lets reserve 90% seats for this 90% for the next 900 years and see where it takes us.

Dear Crazyforsense
when you have spend nearly 20 years after high school learning skill and acquiring knowledge and you belong to a average middle class family from forward cast and you have struggled all along to make ends meet, you would realise what i am speaking about.
This stunt is again only for OBC and SC, ST, where is the average middle class guy's existense
Well after toiling for so many years and later when you are paying yearly tax of about 5 lakhs and get harressed by police for taking a wrong turn by accident or you have to pay money to get the gas cylinder to the agency guy who demands it openly, i am left wondering if i should go to some other country and settle down.
Why should i be helping my countrymen, when all along i never recieved nay help and when the tax i pay still does not give me a hassle free existense

Correct..good human being..I defer on being brilliant as PM. A brilliant would be the one who would kick the a** of the people who are indulging in riots/arson/terror..

It is good.Fees for girls shold be waved.
Fees for technical courses should be highly subsidised.Education loans should be given at nominal interest rates.
