Publicity stunts by Sardar, PC and Sonia
by balachandran on Sep 19, 2008 06:55 AM  | Hide replies

Another election stunt. when will india resort to stoping these free distribution. why can't government instead utilise this amount for giving student loans and later realize this sum back. Average middle class guys who have tried for an educational loan will testify to the difficulties faced to get even a single penny. When you have spend nearly 20 years after high school learning skill and acquiring knowledge and you belong to a average middle class family from forward cast and you have struggled all along to make ends meet, you would realise what i am speaking about. This stunt is again only for OBC and SC, ST, where is the average middle class guy's existense. Well after toiling for so many years and later when you are paying yearly tax of about 5 lakhs and get harressed by police for taking a wrong turn by accident or you have to pay money to get the gas cylinder to the agency guy who demands it openly, i am left wondering if i should go to some other country and settle down. Why should i be helping my countrymen, when all along i never recieved any help and when the tax i pay still does not give me a hassle free existense. Those who are interested in higher education and can't, let they take educational loans and repay it later. why should it be free at all.Why should any caste bias come into that at all?Cheap stunts in election year-The Freebees to the farmers was the starting point of marketdown, paycommission implentation could have waited till ecnomic crisis gets over

ABC
cash gifts by UPA GOVT
by ABC on Sep 19, 2008 06:16 AM

it seems that Govt has become very kind to farmers for waiving their loans(although land prices have reached record levels of croroes/acre),increasing unpropotionately salary to nonperforming GOVT emplyees, without attaching reslts, giving 2,40,000 crores of P.F. to ambani, this is not govt own money,it is public money thro taxes, did u ever thought of giving benefits of such scales to poor /honest tax payers to take their care in time of their need ???.they need vote only, looks on the size of vote bank to thro public money in their own, which otherwise lands in their coffers.

Rightly said Balachandran & P Srinivas.

People like "Crazyforsense" does not even have guts to reveal identity, seems he/she wants "reservation" in hiding identity.

- Equality for all, irrespective of caste, gender or religion then only India can progress & prosper. Else, mind well, we have ample of enemies around us to destroy this great nation.

students are the least likely to vote in an election. Sonia has nothing to gain by giving this scheme to students. you BJP chamchas and Modi bootlickers say whatever you want... Sonia is the best politician and MMS is the best PM India has seen in recent years...

How people are fooled: Reading rediff board alone you can understand
by anirban bandyopadhyay on Sep 19, 2008 05:52 AM

Rediff board is reflection of educated indian mass. And see how idiot they are.

Scholarship is useless in indian system. The reason is that we pay nearly nothing for education even at the university. Compared to advanced countries this is just nill. The money govt suggested will be used by students for entertainment. Or at least some percentage of vote could be baught. Many idiots in the board have already shouted. Do they remember (some of them got national scholarships) what did they do with scholarship money. All people I know baught something for their family and gave good party to friends. Some of them donated to orphan home.

In conclusion, pumpting money to individuals never improves a system. It is used to give bribe. I was attached to a british nanotech institute during 2003-2004 and since 2005 I am attached to japanese nanotech research institute. We just cant imagine of spending money like this. This never ever helps. They also know this.

1. 10,000 Cr pumped directly to market for inflation control, even a idiot can understand that inflation could never be controlled like that.

2. 5,000 cr for rehabilitation. Again can anybody tell me a single paise is going to do any good?

3. 3,000 cr for scholarships and other direct benefits.

I do not feel bad when dirty politicians do this things. I feel bad when I see most idiotic people here supporting this decision. There is no doubt that these people are the real culprit, for this kind of people lallu

What happened to New Economic Policy
by Shyama Sreenath on Sep 19, 2008 05:51 AM

One is not sure what path Manmohan Montek and Chidambaram are adopting. When it comes to basic it is the votes which matters and the government coffers can be emptied by hook or crook for an election victory. But als our officials will siphon of the amount ear marked in many states and the benefit will not trickle down to poor and the needy.

Manmohan and sonia try to win by winning the hearts and minds of people . no caste and cree involved. though this scheme wont do the best for the country. Far better than taking out a rath yatra and diving indians a la mr advani. does anyone recall bomb blasts in india before the glorious yatra began... forget jammu kashmir and punjab
