Writing off Loans of Farmers
by on Feb 28, 2008 12:54 PM  | Hide replies

By resorting to write off loans of Farmers, the agricultural production of country is not going to increase.Farmers should be encouraged to increase production by adoptinfg new techonologies,NGO's/Agril. universities/Big corporate Houses should adopt such farmers who are not in a position to return loan,They should be given quality inputs by such organisations.Once their yields increase,Farmers can repay loans. At best Banks should write off interests only.

Economic Growth
by Badri N Raizada on Feb 28, 2008 12:54 PM  | Hide replies

Economic growth with unequal distribution of its benefits combined with poor agricultural growth has failed to alleviate poverty and deprivation in the rural areas causing large scale migration from these areas to economically advaced areas resulting in severe strain and socio-political tensions in such areas. This is neither sustainable nor desirable as it promotes disaffection, conflicts, violence and even criminal activities including militancy. The Budget must therefore not only aim at balanced growth but also at even distribution of the benefits and focus on under-developed and rural areas. Indeed the State should strive to ensure development activities in these areas through incentives and becoming a catalyst for growth. High growth urban areas could be left mainly to the private sector who should be forced to discharge social reponsibilies towards the weaker sections too.

Drink Oil not Milk, Eat Fuel not Wheat, Drink Mineral Water not Muncipality Water

India is marching forward to attain sustainable place for industrialization at the cost of Agriculture.

It is also not wrong to become industrialized state but not at the cost of agriculture that is basic needs of everyone.

Richer will not find any difficulty as they are not bother about such expenses but what will happen to middle and lower class if cost of daily needs increases on daily basis. not considering citizen below poverty line.

In the coming days government will announce subsidy on the Foods and Grains through large chain of retail network as in terms of $ none would be able to buy from the market.

FII is required not FDI which can generate employment but again how does worker will feed themselves.

Jaago minister jaago tumhara vote bank khatre mein hai. Srif piyaz se kaam nahi chalega.

ek aam aadmi ki jarorot ko pehachano, kiya chaiya uusssa ek car (kiyoki public infrastructure ki baaza bazi hui hai aur yahi 1981 se sabka sapna hai maruti), paisa kamau mein aur ek tihai governement le jaye (kiya govt. utna mera upper kar rahi hai - nahi)

Kuch nahi ho sakta mein bhi kiuo likh raha hu iska matlaab ya mujhe aanne wala din ka darr lag raha hai ya phir mein sirf lekh hi sakta hu

Jaago public jaago, har din ke tarah aaj bhi bhago.

Please its my feeling, don't take on your self. Please give comments so that if i can change myself.

People take of the Left leaders, so the leaders are working for people. Capitalists look after (as election fund) Congress and BJP leaders. So they work for Mafia and Capitalists.

daily limit of 12 hours - work week 60 hours - implies office timings of 10 AM to 10 PM five days a week!

This is the stupidest recommendation. Worldwide it has been proved that long working hours and 6working days a week concept do not increase productivity and efficiency. A comparison of quality of German cars with those of US ones will give a lot of evidence towards the need for good work-life balance. But then, our India mentality is always to do the easiest thing and not the right thing.

Economic growth without equitable distribution and poor growth of agriculture is neither sustainable nor desirable for political and social stability and peace. Excessive concentration of growth and its benefits in major urban areas cannot alleviate rural poverty and deprivation leading to undesirable migration to already over-crowded areas of high growth resulting in social tension, violence and growth of criminal activities. The budget must aim at balanced growth and evenly widespread gains for the upliftment of the rural areas where True India resides.

Growth

What is more important is is there any sustainable growth though there may be ups and downs within a short horizon..

I believe relentless cost focus and indian enterpreneurial capabilities will make it happen once again..if at all growth slows down..
