Cutlet Gravy, only by changing the name back to Bombay, mumbai wont be like in the old days. To make it like to be in old days, fool people like you should be thrown out of it.....You outsiders have spoiled Mumbai......
Mumbai is the 7th most expensive city to rent or buy apartments/bungalows, not with respect to cost of living. The type of buildings that they are considering in this survey are not the ones where the common man will be living. Moreover, other living costs such as food, transportation etc are very cheap in Mumbai.

Mark my words,
Sachin Tendulkar and Ashwariya Rai stay in apts and not in bungalows because there is no land for bungalows. They have all given way to high rise concrete jungles with out proper planning by the corrupt BMC.

Unaffordabe housing is a bad thing. The greatness of a country, city and civilization is how much it can provide to the common masses.

Industrialization in India rises the cost of living... Industrialization in India increases corruption.... Industrialization in India increases antisocial elements.... Can a ordinary government servent earning a salary of 10,000 live in Mumbai or Chennai or Delhi or....That is why he is looking for a bribe.. Police personnels salary are very very less..
Why can't Inda follow the model of EU. They produce goods and technology in those areas where they have competitive advantage. For instance, holland is producing milk. Italy leather, Germany- Chemicals.
India and China are the countries that rides on cost effectiveness. China is much ahead of India in terms of innovation, militaty and other technologies.
India must boost investments in its core competent area.. other wise the so called development will lead to unrealistic cost of living, formation of slums, traffic and commutation problems, criminal activities, bribe etc.)
Diseases will mount. Richer will become richer and poorer will become poorer.
What ever an average person earns, say 40 k per it would not be enough for him to lead a normal life...
