RAIL GAADI 2007
by abhijeet kulkarni on Feb 26, 2007 11:03 PM

Almost 50-60% Indian people use GENERAL BOOGIES for rail traveling...what for them...
almost400-500 trains should run on important routes carrying GENERAL BOOGIES with Security guards...
Security and Rush is major concern in these boogies...Reduceing 1 Rs. is not a impressive deal..this reduction impresses more towards elections...

It's not INDIAN RAIL BUDGET ...it's BIHAR RAIL BUDGET...
by abhijeet kulkarni on Feb 26, 2007 10:59 PM

In Budget,u will also see that Bihar is only state which has lot of Electrified Rail lines,Superfast Trains with big capacity, lot of Loco sheds, lot of Loco Factories (laloo has started 6 factories in last 3 budgets)...
Is India having a one state as BIHAR....
Lalooji also should have been think of other states and MUMBAI as well...

Railway Budget,Increase in sleeper berths
by baskeran samuel dharmaraj on Feb 26, 2007 10:37 PM  | Hide replies

Increase of sleeper berths from 72 to 84 is not a good idea unless the railways are planning to increase the size of the bogies.Otherwise passengers will be packed like a 'can of sardines'. B.S.Dharmaraj.Chennai

rectify the shortage of unreserved 2nd class coaches for passanger trains
by breetham balakrishnan on Feb 26, 2007 09:38 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Sir,
As a majority of the common people are unable to spare more on reservation tickets and their life poor life style doesn't let them have preplanned travelling, Kindly, Instruct the unmindful railway staff to provide more coaches and good travelling time to the poor and needy people, who are vast majority of the nation.
Thanking you

it's not only question of poor people,to travel by train.....but even middle class Indian is also facing a huge problem, since he has to book the ticket 4-5 months before date of journey...which is worst...

Plight of the handicapped and senior citizens
by T. Krishna Kumar on Feb 26, 2007 08:59 PM  | Hide replies

I did not see any mention of special services to enable senior citizens and physically handicapped persons to move about in railway stations and to board trains. I saw the mention of providing elevators in major stations. There should be alternate arrangements for physically handicapped persons, including very old persons, to move on their own in wheel chairs. The elevators should be dependable with uninturrupted power supply, and with strict preference for elderly and the handicapped.
There should be graded slopes in place of steps for such persons in all railway staions. In fact it is high time that such facilities are made at all public places.

Krishna Kumar, Bangalore

laloo ji namaskar
by Rizwan Khan on Feb 26, 2007 08:27 PM

There is an undoubted advantage of a common man holding such position as of Laloo ji being the Railway Minister.
The budget is prepared in such a way as if some people of budget commetee have been only traveling accross the country , through out the year to take the feedback.

I request lalooji to please bring Indore on track ,(Connect it with country , it will be another mini capital of the country.)
