No to Chinese
by Satish on Oct 13, 2006 06:42 AM

Can these so called 'Comrades' lobby for Indian companies to get similar contracts in Chinese Aiports and Seaports. These are the same people who supported China when it attacked India.
When the communists are against US and UK investments (which are democratic countries, gives full religious freedom to all), why are they supporting an autocratic regime like China to be given preference. I think, its more than the so-called ideology. Its Commission-ology. If they can get Indian companies a similar contract in Beijing & Shanghai ports, then we can reciprocate their gesture.

treacherous in the name of Maoism and Communism
by ch s rajagopal on Oct 13, 2006 06:01 AM

In the name of CPI(M) can the Indian Communists invite Chinese to occupy our Market and later India.
Are they believable, saying HINDI CHINI BHAI BHAI, they attacked India. If they war against India, will they discriminate and spare Communist Indians while Bombing? USA never attacked India whereas China did.
It is like GOAT BELIEVING THE SHEPHERED. Communists in India have to remember that they are Indians first and Communists next! Their survival in India exists only when Country is safe! Can any Chinese survive in China supporting India against their Country's Policy? Better Left not to interfere in Safety and Security aspects of Govt. If they are capable enough, they should fight with the Govt. against Petrol rise, Price rise etc., by which a commoner and comrade suffers ; Take care of the poor for which Communists are meant for but not to take care of an enemy country. If they are capable and confident of China being the big brother of Indian Communist , better influence them to give back the occupied territory of India during their war and then advocate Indian Govt. to treat China as friendly country and extend business relations etc.

Ban on chinese FDI.
by nitin on Oct 13, 2006 05:17 AM

Well, to start of, pakistan and china should be invited to bid for all the airports and ports in india. They should be given priority over other bids in view of their consistant and excellent records with india and their great nuclear, military and technological expertise. Once that is done, all our problems will be solved by themselves..! I hope the LEFT (read left out!) parties will be very very happy that the communists will have taken over india.. I think it will be better than having such narrow minded leaders as we have now!

Trust is important
by Aditya on Oct 13, 2006 04:09 AM

It's hard to trust China unless they provide us a reason to do so. In fact, they are more dangerous than Pakistan because we know Pakistan can't be trusted but we don't know whether or not China can. Left parties in India have long been supporting China even if it comes at the cost of our national interset. There is a dictionary word for such people - traitor, and that is what we should be calling them. In stead, we look for their support to run our governments and buckle under their pressure every other day. Who is to blame? I have no problems with having economic relationship with China but I would be very careful with a country that has betrayed us in past and hasn't supported us on international front ever.

No to Chinese FDI
by KARTIK on Oct 13, 2006 03:46 AM

In this competitive world where India and China are looking to become super powers it would really foolish to borrow money from our competitor. Because China can pull out of such critical project any time. Also when they would have access to confidential documents such as blueprints of the project which are very handy when, GOD forbid, there is war between the two nations. Can you rule that out? It would be as foolish to be assured that China can never attack us. Remember the border dispute is not yet resolved. We have already lost Aksai Chin before, I hope we wont lose Arunachal next time on.

China was rightly categorized as enemy number one by former Defence Minister George Fernandes. Do we answer to the railway project that has taken place few weeks back connecting mainland China with Tibet. That project has enabled Chinese military right into throat of the country in war. The military advantage that they have acquired, will take long time for us to catch up. I hope the UPA govt is listening.

China has slowly but steadily getting into building ports for our neighbours like Pakistan, Bangaldesh and Sri Lanka. They are watching us. Are we prepared for this? Jai Hind!

threat to security
by Girish on Oct 13, 2006 12:51 AM

Chinese and their marxist comrades in India appear a threat to national security because of their dubious nationalism and undemocratic record. The Indian people had elected the Left to balance the effects of Western capitalism and buffer its working class, and not to lobby for direct investments of hostile nations. I think we can do without FDI from China in ports and such sensitive sectors. The PM is right and should stick to being so.

The lefties have once again shown where their real loyalties lie. During the cold war, they were financed by USSR, now one wonders whether their new master is China now!

stupid communists...
by Ravi on Oct 12, 2006 11:07 PM

Have the communists forgotten that Chinese attacked India in 1962? Or that Chinese is giving missile and nuclear technology to Pakistan which no european nation is giving? Or that recently, google maps showed images of chinese areas where they had recreated our NE border for military purpose and studies??

The communists supported the chinese during the 1962 war and are supporting them again. There were reports of Communist parties getting money from USSR during 1970s and 1980s. From the way the communists are pushing Chinese interests, it appears that they are now getting money from Chinese to push their interests!!

These communists want to sell our country to Chinese! For vote purposes they allowed illegal immigrants from Bangladesh into West Bengal and tripura and are against sending them back. For money and idealogy, they now want Chinese to invest in the strategic areas of our country!
