Just a lay back attitude wont suffice ... just because it will take 20 years for the chinese to catch us doesnt mean that they will never over take us. So yeah ... the author is right .... we have to be proactive. If not, we are killing ourselves day by day.

Ajit, Please read the post in its entirety. The author said that Indian companies *who plan to open branches in China* must learn from the google experience.
Don't be so smug about India's position vs china. The americans also thought the same about us. Secondly, what is so great about india's IT industry? We are to IT what china is to manufacturing... low-end mass production(in rare cases lower-mid level) One in a thousand dev center in India does work that can be characterised as tech... the rest are just making end to end solutions for some finance company or inventory mananagement for some manufacturing firm.

I believe,every challenges must seek as an opprotunity.Chinese are the Market Player,We need to find a stratgey to fight in them in all Market,it may be IT,Trade,Conusmer,Finance or Miltary Equipment, For the the does not deviate from the chinese cultural while we are very flexible and can work out in either way,thats a credite to our success, Regards Sajid

Ajit..But u don;t know that China is already 2 decades ahead of India in all aspects(gdp/software/hardware/etc)..India in only ahead in BPO..or IT Services.

I am sure you neither visited China nor aware of its IT growth. Beside your knowledge on IT, i am even sure you jus live in your bubble.
Last year It export of china amount to USD 2 billion. They arent really far behind us. Problem with us,we want status quo. We dont want to improve and we expect others to be idle as well.

hi ajit , software laboring is different from IT ,the IT techs of china now is better than india's ,,,,and in 2005,the software export of china was 3.6 BILLION USD ,and the dimension of software industry of china reached 390 BILLION USD in 2005 which has already overtook india ,,,so kindly wishind u to update ur knowledge :)
