Hi All, Let me share my experiences. 1. Iam Indian. 2. Iam a Software Proffessional 3. I stayed in China for 1 year. Let me tell you the Positives about China and the People Chinese are ahead of us by atleast 2 decades. Chinese are soft, hardworking and are not cunning in nature. There is no one to beat the chinese as far as dedication and hardwork is concerned. I was in Hangzhou where TCS had opened their office. The Hangzhou Railway Station looks better than the Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi. There is restiction in Public. Any matter hampering the Government Policies should not be publicised. Petrol cost is 50% of that in India. No price increase of commodities for last few years. No power cuts. Clean Roads and Foot path. All Busses and Houses Air conditioned. All Trains & Railway Stations, Airports neat and clean. Very good infra structure and all cities are connected by Express ways. I travelled 40 kms in cab from Shanghai railway station to Airport. Not even a single traffic signal was there. The cab went through 3 tier elevated high way across the heart of city. Major cities developed as world class cities. No City in India has Metro network as that of Shanghai The chinese will easily overtake Indians in Software because of their Hardwork and adaptability. Volkswagon and Sonata are Taxis in China. In a small Town called Xiaoshan the old taxis of Volkswagon was replaced by Luxury model of Volkswagon and Sonata within 2 weeks. Whereas we want our old vehicles manufactured durinng our grandfather days to be used even now. Do you think the same condition will be here in India after 20 years? What have we got apart from freedom to speak? Reservation!. Bad roads or no roads at all. The mall city of Gurgaon has shabby busses and no public transport at all. I think all the MPs, Chief Ministers, Governors and Mayors should visit china and learn from them. We are IT wizards but beware chinese will easily overcome us.
Whatever I have read about China, I find it to be a land of paradoxes. Western companies fear to work in China because of the fear of technology theft! GM has learnt this in hard way. To some extent China is following the policies of erstwhile Japan, the government supports Chinese companies on the cost of foreign companies. We saw this when a consortium of Chinese Steel companies came together to fend any buying offer from Mittal-Arcelor.
On the other hand it seems to got out of the way supporting foreign investors. Indian software major TCS has been given special status in Hongzhou.
But this censorship is in a way boon to India, as this gives our democracy and free press a prestige and attracts foreign investors to this country!
China has grown at a faster rate than India but China is way far behind in IT sector. Indian economy is growing at a good rate and the governement should also try its level best to grown in areas other than IT. I Prasad Babu Baikampadi can see India becoming the most powerfull country on earth after progressing in all sectors.
