Hi, I am Biju, from california (USA).People does not know that the high price of petrol is the only problem of India, In California the rate of petrol is 3.39 dollars/gallon. So this is world wide problem,We should not make this a big issue,The India government could not do any thing on this issue. Thank U, biju
I have myself been investigating into the huge price of petrol in the country. More than half the money that we pay, per litre of petrol, goes to the state coffers by way of tax. This money, in simple words, is coercive, state-sponsored loot. The politicians and govt officials clearly are uniformed criminals who burden the people with taxes of every kind -- so they can grab more money for so-called "development programmes" and grow fatter at the cost of every tax paying victim. Even Pakistan needs to collect tax for their infrastructural growth, but the cost of petrol there is Rs. 34 per litre -- and not Rs. 50 that we pay here. After paying so much of direct and indirect taxes on everything, the quality of life of an average Indian is still much lower than a Thai or Malaysian citizen. Shame on us Indians for allowing this loot by the politicians and babus.
well it sure is a very good eye opener, but what can we do about it, does our legal ststem provide us with anything to do about this, well we surely must be having something , and its time some celebrity takes up th issue, since everything depends on the fuel costs, its bettrer if they talk of this ither than narmada, human rights.
well we gotta start something on this front, please people dont let this issue die.
<>You know - this is something very basic - but it's a point to ponder. It was pointed out to me by an autorickshaw driver.
<>In disgust after the latest petrol price hike, I had left my car at home and hopped into an autorickshaw to go to the airport. On the way, I was actually asking him the various merits and demerits of conversion to CNG and lamenting the increase in price, when the driver asked me that isn't it true that prices normally increase when the demand for a particular product exceeds the supply? I nodded "ÿes". then he asked me that with more and more vehicles being dictated to switch to CNG, shouldn't the demand for petrol and deisel actually be coming down...? So, how come their prices keep going up???
I was so happy to read and get enlightened by the article I read on the subject. Kudos to the guy who worked on and continues to work on finding out the truth of the oil prices and the hypocrisy of those in the 'business'of oil. I am looking forward to be enlightened further. We need to build our nation on foundations of truth and justice if we are to be proud of our country and give our children a legacy they will be proud of.
It is true that these companies rather the ministries do away with right to information act. This act is just to show that yes govt. is working with the people for the people the biggest myth.
All the oil company is say last month oil price was 55 now it become to 74. Yes. now it is 74. but Any one know what is a barrel. it 168 liters. That means for 1 liter price is below 18 rs. This is for the Best crude oil. God only knows what kind of crude oil we are getting.
I am not sure about it, but maybe a PIL can be launchded against this golmal, the govt-folly combined with Oil companies' secrecy and stuff. Lawyers out there..any suggestions?
An excellent article. Yes, we must question and question and question the Govt. on this issue till a satisfactory answer is received. If the price of cruse goes up by, say, 5% the Govt increases the cost of petrol by 10% then adds all levies on taxes on the increased price. Finally this leads to increased cost of transportation followed by inflation. Finally the common man has to pay more for such simple things as onions, potatoes and Dal. This is just too much!
