Deve Gowda needs a doctor
by Shrinivas on Oct 28, 2005 02:43 PM

Amazing strategy!!! Hats of to Gowda and his band of stooges. Now he wants something to be done for the local kannadiga people ? Preparing for elections eh ? To get more votes ? Lets get some facts. The IT industry has employed people from all over India and brought them to Bangalore. I live in the western part of the planet. People look up to Bangalore and it's IT workers. The IT companies have not just employed It professionals. Look at the cabs used to transport BPO employees. Arent they Kannadigas ? The 24/7 cafeteria at every IT office. The security officers. It has created employment for everyone. Mr Gowda is trying to attract attention and get the 15 mins of attention like he got when he was a prime minister. Mr Gowda - You are probably "one" of the worst prime ministers we had in this country. You suffer from inferiority complex and need a doctor. Take a break. Take a hike. . get lost

Deva Gowda
by Ramakkumar on Oct 28, 2005 02:33 PM

No i agree with Dewa Gowda. There are others who brought IT and fame to Bangalore. But the credit for bringing in disgrace to bangalore solely goes to HDG. What was his net worth 30 years back when he first started politcal life? Today half of padmanabha nagar in blore is held by him and his relatives. And he talks of curruption. These politicians will never change

Yes Mr.Gowda is right
by sudhir on Oct 28, 2005 02:27 PM  | Hide replies

Yes, all those people whinging about Bangalore\'s infrastructure take a note..last year IT companies threatened to boycott Bangalore IT.com. Dharam Singh government came to power in may 2004. Has all those Bangalore roads which were shining under S.M.Krishna government disappeared in just 3 months.

To be specific S.M.Krishna was a paper tiger who ran away from his home constituency in Mandya district beacuse only people of Karnataka know the ground reality. Mr.Krishna lacked vision which is the prime cause of all the infrastructure woes Bangalore is facing now. Has he built big flyovers, cleared Metro rail project in his regime, built Bangalore International airport it couldn\'t have been the same story. All this IT people are complaining now because because of the abolishion of BATF which was formed under S.M.Krishna. Mr.Krishna held the office for five full years why couldn\'t he solve all those problems?. Has all the problms popped up just in a matter of 3 months?

Cheap Ego Display Mr Gowda
by Sachin Nair on Oct 28, 2005 02:16 PM

Mr Gowda- Ever since you have been making news I feel pity for you. What is this land grabbing matter you talk of? Karnataka is large and Bangalore at that has got plenty of scope for further expansion. The day isnt far when Yelhanka will be considered heart of Bangalore. Chamrajpet to KR Puram all will be Blore Urban like say for instance Ghatkopar or Vile Parle of Blore. Let them have as much land as possible.Tax sops you talk of I can list down scores of industries in China which even after 20 yrs of rapid economic development and WTO effect still continues with Tax sops. One full island equivalent to Goa is for industries.Input costs are so low that even India is not able to offer em inspite of having all necessary factors of production.Simple whtever we can make in Rs 100 they can make itin Rs 40-60 n hence factories flourish.Let public fin experts tell us wht is the return per Re of investment on Irrigation projects.MrGowda what you are doing today is the price we are paying of the blunder committed during the 90s when you without your knowing became PM.The fun is you also did not realise that and now you are waking up to that fact n trying to impose your long lost glory

IT has contributed nothing.
by Major Rangachar(Retd) on Oct 28, 2005 02:14 PM

Firstly I dont agree with Gowda on the following Issues.
1.IT has created 300,000 jobs as per Devegowda.Considering each IT pro supports 4 family Members,The figure comes 1200,000 people.
2.Each IT pro approximately 5 people like people to work in Transport(Private),canteen,Banking sector, related Service sector. This figure comes 1500,000.
Question: What is the employment potential created By gowda in his political Life. The answer from any sensible human being is a Big Zero.
3.Because of the IT hype the people,We mean the socalled reserved categories are not keen to Accept jobs in Govt, the very same irresponsible Politicians are clamouring reservations in Pvt sector.
Here the so called Polity incl Gowda is a biggest failure.
4.After the New govt has assumed power,in which Gowda has assumed the role of Ombudsman for every Development activity,Nothing has been done not only in Bangalore,in whole of Karnataka.
Reason:Gowda does not want Dharamsing to perform,no doubt he is not capable eighter, because,he can use the same point to corner votes in the next elections.
5.IT has put India on its World Map,Devegowda is trying to put Karnataka which is a doyen at par with BIHAR & UP.

Political drama vs IT visibility
by Arun Ranganath on Oct 28, 2005 01:57 PM

Its a shame that a former Prime Minister of India makes such loose comments and loses his temper like this. While everyone is human,Mr.Gowda has no business to make personal attacks on Mr.NRN.Yes,Infosys is not the only IT company in the world.By the same token,Mr.Deve Gowda is not the sole preserve of the political class. All of us know his famous 'sleeping' stint as a lucky head of State in India.

We appreciate Mr.Gowda having done a lot for the agriculture community. But I am sorry, he has no business to intervene and stop growth in the IT industry, where he has no credentials even remotely close to that of Mr.NRN.

It would be great if Mr.Gowda refrained from castigating leaders like Mr.NRN.Even if Mr.Gowda cannot contribute to the growth of IT,I beseech him to at least not interrupt the efforts of people like Mr.Murthy and of companies like Infosys.

Please Mr.Gowda,please.Clearing the first IT project in Karnataka is history.Change with the times. An international airport means something, which is possibly beyond your individual comprehension.Don't stop Mr.NRN.Please don't!

Thank you.

Regards,
Arun
