Is it better to be unemployed than to work in hell? I pray that after this hardship there is some much needed prosperity in India. May the next generation benefit from the sufferings we go through today. Again the principal of something is better than nothing comes to the mind.
i don't agree with the author.who will give us jobs that too with such a high pay.nobody is ready to pay at a high scale to a fresher.more over nobody provides you with so many facilities. working in a call center requires to thrieve a balance in your routine and sleep.working in odd hours won't make a difference if you maintain a balance in your work and sleep. for social activities ,call c's provide you with weakend off's and you can enjoy those days. we should be happy that atleast youth is having a good time to earn for themselves
call centres/BPO stuff is definitely an answer to our umemployment problems, easy 10,000rs to 18,000rs p.m after graduation-compare it to being a mech grad,in many cases merely making 5000rs after graduation,if not unemployed, unless one is working for the big boys. I having worked in a call centre for a real short period found it respectable;they treat people fair enough(schools and colleges sometimes don't!!)..but for the whole indian economy, what happens if the carpet is pulled offa our feet one day? we'r gonna slip and fall.indian firms and schools-colleges are on a profit making spree which is not wrong, everyone want's a bite, but often fall short in spending money on research, development and society-the secret to keep the call centre service within india. we are in a position as the u.s youth was in the 80's- we need to catch up,not everyone is happy with call centres in india, they ask why not in vietnam, philipines? after all there was strong u.s presence in these places one time!!!!
So,atlast some has brought out this true harsh reality to light. This is also the reason that like BPO's who work 24 hrs, also have thier recruitment open for 24*7 days because of what they term as atrittion.
