Hey good report for flash news...but lets see what action is taken because Pepsi and Coke are giants in the business industry and they are pumping lots of money into the Indian economy.
It was really shocking to have heard that these drinks contain such harmful pesticides. It is shattering of our trust in these drinks. It seems that from now onwards we people should go by the quality rather than be influenced by the attractive advertisements.
This News is shocking. It appears that we people were being cheated till now. We have decided not to have it any more. Its better to drink cold water to quench our thirst rather than drinking such deadly cold drinks.
After reading the article one understands the concern,but why such tests have not been done periodically from the time of launch.Why it took so much time for having it tested.It makes me think whether this test has been conducted for a genuine reason or somebody is involved to tarnish the image of the companies.
A thorough investigation is needed and matter to be brought to the parliament. An immediate ban is needed for sale of soft drinks temporarly throuhout the country till the matter is solved by the Govt. If the pesticide is proved in drinks, manufacturer must be punished.

Thanks for bringing awareness among the fellow humans about presence of pesticides (which could also be cancer causing carcinogens) in Pepsi, Coke and other 10 soft drinks. It may be recalled that about a decade ago, some soft drinks were known to contain a Carcinogen called BVO (Brominated Vegetable Oil). Many times after drinking the soft drinks, I used to feel acidic like feeling in the stomach. Also I realized that soft drinks had an abrasive action on my teeth. The temptation due to glamour advertising featuring the filmstars taking soft drinks is so much that children as well as adults get gradually addicted to soft drinks. In real life, these reel life filmstars are mostly on a slim figure and muscle building diet which prohibits consuming soft drinks. Never believe the reel filmstars as real life friends / heros. Applause to the CSE (Centre for Secience and Environment) and to the rediff.com media for bringing awareness about the deadly effects of soft drinks containing pesticides. Parents need to think twice now before giving soft drinks containing pesticides to their children.
Well if they give us water, we complain that they take it from our soil and sell it to ourselves. If they give mineral water, we tell that it contains pesticides. If they give coke or pepsi, we accuse them of containing insects like lizards, etc. To counter that claim and kill the insects if they use pesticides, even then we accuse them. What more can these poor Organizations do?
