Yes, Definitely. Women suffer blood loss during this period. This blood constitutes many nutrients also, majorly iron and folic acid. This is the period when most of the unhealthy women becomes mentally unstable due to hormonal imbalances, hence it is very much required to give them Off during this period.

Only if citified by qualified medical practitioner that medications for menstrual cramps and sanitary napkins are ineffective or will interfere with their work.

Women need this break for sure...But I go further saying that employing them itself is not required. You want to empower women with money and power, give them 50% of the male salary (for married women of course) as free, let them use this money and do creative stuffs...They need not engage in an exploitative and sexally perverse Corporate environment,
