They can tell bedtime stories to their Grand children "Once upon a time for 50 days I work 12 Hrs a day" and this would be justifiably even for the salaries, incentives, bonuses etc they get for there non performances

my daughter working in hdfc bank at vapi her time is 9 am to 7 pm sine 9 nov she work for 16 to 18 hrs. still she feel that its time to help people . nad says its great experance in my life.
Dear Author,We understand that the Bank staff across are working trelessely to ensure the situation get normalise....But except this situtaion the employees at banks have Gala Time, They enjoy all the Holidays which any other employee working in a private firms is deprived off.. They enjoy a beneifts of 9 Hours work schedule where as Privat Emloyees have to work beyond 9 Hours and also at times even when we are on leave or at Home.,Every year You Guys go on Strike for Increase in Payscale or demanding other statutory benefits....So Please its the Job of Banking Personal to help get the situation Normalise. Bankin Guys have anyways enjoyed a lot, let them Work for the Nation Now & the People of India.....They are atlease in a better position that people standing in the Queue....So please dont Crib and Work...

sir, this is a post office not bank ! they cant go on strike , they cant ask for payrise , and their holidays are fixed by central govt...

Amar Singh - You dont get my intent of comments, All i wanted to say is that Even Employees at Private Firm work everyday 12-14 hours that too under tremendous target pressure & always at risk of Loosing their Job....These Bank Employees at least have a Job Security, They have their Association to Fight for their rights, Moreover they enjoy All the Holidays which are followed by Sunday or Saturday(2nd & 4th)...So If they had to work nowadays what is so big Deal about it....We have been working for long hours since decades now...Where do you think Employees at private Companies should go an Crib...While I appreciate the effort of Banks & Post Offices , I only wanted to say to Author lets not make so much of "Fuss" about their long working hours.Its a tough Time and everybody is giving their support to overcome.

You, Mr. Pravin Singh Shivpratap, are a jerk. I can tell you that a relative of mine has been leaving home at 8.30am and coming back at10.30pm from a PSU Bank. Every day the pressue is enormous. And working as a cashier you are responsible for accounting every rupee that has been deposited/ withdrawn. This relative has had tough problems, at the end of day, reconciling the day's totals. On one day, the difference was Rs.30,000 LESS. The entire staff sat back to check through every stack of notes and see where the error/missing Rs.30,000 was. They found it. It took more than one and half hours. For your information, if not reconciled, this cashier would have had to pay Rs.30,000 OUT OF POCKET! Such is the pressure the bank staff, particularly the cashiers, are working under.

Yes, true. The pressure on bank employees has increased due to competition. The senior officers go to the bank early morning (around 5 a.m.) on the days of strikes. Even on ordinary days they never come back before 9 p.m. Currently they are working for the country like the soldiers.

It is appreciated that they are coping up with the situation sincerely. The attitude towards customers in public sector banks changed a lot during last two years. It is also worth mentioning here that I have seen and experienced the irresponsible behavior of the bank employees a few years back, when there was no competition and people had to depend only only public sector banks
