Why not we accept our culture as a genuine, old and time-tested one instead of trying to find reasons which we do not understand. After all we are not fully enlightened and our elders from ancient days were much more enlightened, even if they were not using cell phones. One need not understand everything, can live happily listening to his elders on what came by practice.
the menstrual cycle is not about hygeine...it has something to with energy...energy is the basis of everything in Hinduism. Students who can combine and think Quantum Physics and Vedanta will only understand the hindu traditions....its science of the highest level. People think all the rituals are useless and superstitious...Nothing is superstitious is my thinking :)
the human body has chakras. the objective of life is to raise your kundalini from the base of the spine to the head. This is the highest peak one can achieve and this is the state of super bliss which every human being aspires for.
The prayers in a temple is supposed to raise your energy level to this state. During the five days of a cycle for a woman by a natural process the energy is supposed to be pushed downward while the prayers push your energy up. since this is contradicting by nature, the ancient sages would have suggested this five day break.

Thanks. See the picture of this article. Will these MSM have any guts to question other faiths? The next moment they'll see a non-violent(???) protest to ensure their closure

One more attempt to submit the deleted message in an acceptable form. Beatification is done based on faith and it is futile to talk of logic.
All rituals were having some scientific reason as per time, climate and conditions around the events. But to be superstitious now is lack of knowledge or ignorance or acceptability of change. Since we do not have a common civil code, as such certain things are not taught due to fear of insulting a religion or community, as such these problems are multiplying instead of getting resolved.
The author says correctly about woman and her problems. Now a days you see the strength of woman and compare to olden days. they give birth to more children and they work more. We have to respects certain procedures and principles. We have to treat and respect woman as our friend at the same time they also respect the procedures

The issue is not that we do not respect. We do respect everybody and everything including plants, air, water, animals and nature as a whole. It is just an accepted way of living and culture. If one does not believe, we don't mind, but they have no authority to force others to follow their suit. As they want not to follow others, they cannot ask others to follow them too. For example, Sabarimala temple where entry is not allowed to women between 12 and 50 years of age; if they want to go to temple they should have faith in the rituals and faith, and if they do not have faith, they should not insist for entry in where they have no faith. They can keep away instead of questioning existing practices. At best they can build another sabarimala and do whatever they want. The most unfortunate part is played by the courts and judges who want to dictate everything. Some time they say they will not interfere in faith and in some other case they freely interfere with faiths. It just depends on the group following the faith.

yes! when the family used to be joint family others available to work on food making/worshipping home deities the woman bleeding was excused from certain works for three days On fourth day or even more ill bvleeding stops she would take bath and be allowed to work normally! DO NOT COMPARE WITH WESTERISED CULTURES OF TODAY! ITS VERY ESSENTIAL FOR MANY FINER REASONS !WHEN SCIENCE WILL DEVELOP FINER MACHINES TO DETECT DAMAGES ALL WILL KNOW! TILL THEN EITHER OBEY THE INDIAN CUSTOMS OR BE VICTIMS OF MISERIES!
