Wasting food should be made a criminal offence. Hats off to Mr. Padmanabhan and also to Mr. Ramakrishna who is doing the same in Tadipalligudem of West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. Thank you folks.
This is not his or her responsibility, it is our collective responsibility, to have food and not waste them whether at home, function, office, or anywhere (whether it is free or paid),
Buddy Great Job. As said the implementation should be done in many cities. To setup this a toll free number should be in place. Why Toll free number its human tendency that when its free they move ahead.
Action is better than a thousand words ... and you have proved this adage. This is transformation and people like you should be emulated. The young are capable of translating their ideas into action and also have the ability to use technology to implement it in a simple way. Most great ideas are simple one line thoughts, when implemented well, transform into brilliant and compelling results. Hats off to you, Mr Padmanabhan. And thank u Rediff, for an excellent article on India's Independence day ...
Hats off to Sh.Padmanabhan and his team for collecting food left over is a wonderful idea. If we went further.. buying and collecting vegetables from mandi when due to glut, prices are rock bottom then after chopping and salting the same, these could be solar dryed.. Then mixed to make packets for making thin or thick soup from these dried salted vege, at very low cost for all specially the aam admi!!! Collecting and distributing waste/surplus food has big risk of such food getting high/spoilt specially in summer/monsoon times. I would rather, solar dry all such food and mix them with vegge.dry powder to make soup packets. Temples mosques and religious places cold offer to the needy.. Farmers could be asked to join the cooperative for solar drying vegge. So that they could during period of glut or very low unremurative prices get extra profit from earning of the their coop.
