Patna tops the list, no doubt. Its too small for the volume of traffic it handles, runway is small and the airport is quite congested. But the govt. is not able to provide land/site for new airport. what a shame! when all else is improving in Bihar, why not this airport or other airports like Gaya. They need to think Big, futuristic - Gaya attracts lakhs of pilgrims every year from India as well as abroad.
Well Kolkota Airport is more like a railway station. I think there is a lot of things that can be done better. Once you alight at the airport it is more like a busstop or a railway station. No rules or regulation.

Seems you visited Kolkata airport 5 years back. Visit now and see for yourself. In design and space, it ranks better than many big names. Definitely better than Chennai and Mumbai (T1)

The new airport terminal at Kolkata, specially the spacious international departure area (as compared to the single gate cramped up area in the old terminal) is a welcome change. The building is impressive from outside though inside still a lot needs to be done.

give me ur account number so that I can transfer flight fare to a beggar like u who travels by flight once in every 5 years
The CISF personnel are not trained. I had an AI connecting flight from LA to Bhubaneswar and the print out of the ticket did not have the time mentioned, but had the flight number. Still they did not allow me to go the counter to get the boarding pass. MORONS. I was asked to go to the first floor and get a ticket first where some AI staff were lazing around. MORONS again. Took some time and help find out the counter. Again came down to ground floor with the so called ticket and went to get a boarding pass. Then I was told that I have extra baggage which was absolutely fine. But why go to another counter to pat for the extra baggage. Again had to find the counter where I saw two AI staffs with bleary eyes eating up tax payers money for doing nothing. Redundant staffs. Also MORONS. Sitting there just to swipe cards. Couldn't the person issuing the boarding pass had the wherewithal for this small activity.
In the origin airport, I was just asked my name and they just verified my passport. That's it.
