Germany

Since when did we become a colony of Germany?
India NEVER had any relationship with Germany whether social, cultural, religious or political.
Then why do Germans want us to learn their language??
Indians are free to learn any language they want to, outside of school.
Infact, I feel the whole world should learn Sanskrit, because its the most pure language.
Infact, Germans proved that Sanskrit is the best language for Computers.

This is definitely a PAID article.

Why only German?
by vivek on Nov 23, 2014 06:24 PM  | Hide replies

Is it the only foreign language of importance? Why not Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Russian or French? Are there no employment oppertunities in these languages? And beside, Samskrit is our collective heritage, which we should preserve.

It is good that Mr Deepak Kumar has benefited by learning German. However it does not support the need for pushing German as a third language in Indian schools. Indian schools have a duty to teach Indian languages - whether it is Hindi or Bengali or Sanskrit or Urdu - in addition to one foreign language - which by default is English. Any other language course must be learnt by the students outside the school - just as they enroll for other programs such as sports, fine arts, music or dance.

I don't completely agree. May be - today. Are they guaranteed to give these students jobs after 2 decades? Absolutely, no. Are you aware that google is developing an app that will allow you to speak in English on your smartphone and your target audience can listen to the speech in their language of choice? Can you guess how advanced such an app would be 10 years from now when these students are in college?

Good

Good that Deepak Kumar learned German in his spare time. Everyone who wants to learn German should similarly learn in their spare time. Millions of indians should not be forced to learn german as 3rd language on taxpayer money.

no good for Germany
by Sanjay M on Nov 23, 2014 01:17 PM  | Hide replies

Well when it comes to false pride, can anyone better Indians? There is no good for Germany if Indians learn German. It only creates problems for them in loosing jobs to Indians, same goes for France as well . Some people in this Forum thinks Germany paid for this article. Well when it comes to false pride, can anyone better Indians? India needs to forget its failed culture of raping and inequality by embracing the western culture. yes look west (don't feel ashamed) be honest, we know all good things comes from west, computers, cars etc etc. So reaping all the benefits made by them and then say look East not West! How unfair is that! Take their culture as well. language is the starting point, learn it!
