Germans look down on Indian and their culture
by gttrr on Nov 25, 2014 06:47 AM

Sanskrit is an ancient language and the linguistic base of Indian culture. Learning Sanskrit will help understand other Indian languages far better and be rooted in our own culture. The grammatical structure of Sanskrit is such that it helps a child’s reasoning and analytical ability far better. Learning Sanskrit is not regressive and going back to primitive life style as some German press would have us believe. The Germans would like to save us from such a situation. (Read their press and watch their attitude) The German news paper “Rheinische Post” reported the story under the caption, “Indian Government will put the break on thecing German” with a photo of a very ugly and shabby class room from some where in remote India. Is this the true representation of a Kendriya Vidhyalaya? If the Germans want to promote their culture should it be at the cost of our own culture? In which German schools are any of Indian language taught? Mandarin is very popular in Germany and they promote it while anything Indian is looked down as from "Third World" and something from the land of snake charmers. What is the scope the language German? Spanish and French will be a better option as many from this language speaking countries do business with India. If Indian wants to surrender to German arrogance their shabby treatment of anything about India, learn their language as an optional one.

Ahhh Max Muller will be laughing from wher ever he is
by jet on Nov 25, 2014 03:36 AM

By looking at the Indians, Max Muller, a German, will be laughing his a55 out. Couple of centuries ago he wrote the mythical Aryan invasion theory and permanently divided Indians into Aryans and Dravidians. NO matter how many times it is proved that theory is wrong, indians still fight on it. Now This German language which was introduced with the help of an organization which is based in Mac Muller bhavan is making indian fight with each other. The Chinese and other might be laughing at the stupidity of Indians.

Oh, learn all foreign languages
by jet on Nov 25, 2014 03:15 AM

Oh yes, Indians should learn not only German but French, Italian, Danish, Swedish, Polish, Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, Arabic , Spanish, Portuguese, Africans, and many other languages spoken in Africa. That way there will be lot of doors open to them. More over we should also change our names and our street, cities names so that we can feel and get used to those languages. we are lagging behind to those developed countries whose people have learned lot of foreign languages and developed more.

I initially learnt German because I absolutely hated the Britons
by Vishnu Sharma on Nov 24, 2014 11:14 PM  | Hide replies

Only while learning I came to know that English is also a Germanic Language and many words in German are identical to sound similar to corresponding words in English:

Although German Grammar is entirely different from English Grammar, but is identical to Sanskrit Grammar.

Some examples
The word for Cold in German is Kalt.
The word for Hard is Hart.
The word for heart is Herz

and many others.

I have enjoyed learning about the history of German speaking peoples right from the Germanic Tribes who ravaged Ancient Rome to the modern Unified Germany.

It has given many insights to me regarding how I see India.

We Hindus in India are similarly positioned in Asia just like the Germans in Europe and our land has been at the crossroads for invaders.

I strongly feel that we Indians need to develop the same kind of nationalistic, disciplined and methodical approach towards developing our nation.

We want to be firmly grounded in our culture and never allow outsiders to dictate terms to us.

Also the entire Indian Subcontinent is our Living-Space and we need to rightfully and forcefully return back to the Rashtra these lands which we lost in 1937 and 1947.

We need to develop technical prowess and also have a mighty and massive military presence in the subcontinent.

We need to develop a sound economy and improve the standards of health and cleanliness in India and we need to carry ourselves like Masters of South Asia and South East Asia.
