Exams in English only
by Gaurav GUPTA on May 18, 2015 03:32 PM

The IAS /UPSC/ Other Civil Administrative service exams are being dumbed down by allowing them to be answered in any language other than English.
What use is not having an officer who won’t be even able to string together a decent letter in English nor will he be able to understand files that have been passed down from higher ranking officials.
Some files that he may come across may need analytical skills, ability to understand basic law, ability to have a grasp of technological breakthrough and also he might be needed to carry out detailed discussions with peers, superiors and those who have applied for the project.
Such Semi Educated Officers would go on to become the laughing stock of the department

People with colonial mindset
by rajiv kumar on Aug 06, 2014 06:10 PM  | Hide replies

Modi ji has given a befitting reply to the people with colonial mindset by abolishing English.. But this is not complete.. The Complete victory is when CSAT will fully scrap and when he will make Hindi compulsory for all Indians as per BJP manifesto.

Better prepare for a stone age life. If you thrust Hindi upon others, then disintegration of this nation is not far away

What if i say make Telugu compulsory. Have some sense when you say make Hindi compulsory.
You are not supposed to thrust language on anyone in this country.

Why these candidates make so much noise for Civil Services ? After successful pass & training, they may become Dept Secretary. These people report to the concerned minister.
Why can't they try for becoming(more powerful) politician who rule Taluk, District or State -depending on their calibre & luck ! Besides, no qualification is set, no exams are to be written. No boss. They can change parties. There are more benefits.
See cases of civil servants becoming politicians & no politician tries to become civil servant? Why ? Try for the best.

What is the necessity for UPSC exam for IAS ?
by krishnan bala on Aug 05, 2014 07:12 PM

For a country whose moorings are anchored in Ramayan and Mahabarath why un-necssarily discriminate people based on language and that too giving a dominant position to Videshi basha whom we fought against for 400 years ! Laws are made by politicians like Lallu,Mulayam,Sharad Yadav and Behanji. What they are doing in Parliament, the civil servants have to do out-side on the streets. To carry out their orders, Angrezi ka kya zaroorath hi ? When Lallu said in court that buffalow was carried in scooter to veterenary hospital or when a cattle weighing 200 kgs. was fed 400 kgs of fodder per day, no body asked about Qualitative or Quantitative analysis ! When Shibu Soren took 60 lakhs bribe for voting in Parliament, they said that you could not question the activity of an M.P. in the house ! When Rai Sab the CAG told that there was a loss of 3.75 lakh crores in 2 G un ko tho ullu banaya ! So all these tests under UPSC is un-necessary. Abolish UPSC . Absorb every body who has applied and give them a job like and Law & Order for people who burnt police jeeps and public vehicles. Those who removed their shirts must be given posting in the ministry of Culture. The same should apply to all posts in Armed Forces, Scientists,Doctors, Engineers and Sweepers !This ill also end discrimination between North and South as otherwise Mallus and Tamils will demand all papers in their language ! Already KCR is complaining that the No.of IAS officers from Telengana is sparse !

by pratap bhanu on Aug 05, 2014 06:48 PM

Like ITR-V prints out to be sent to CPC office bangalore only through ordinary/speed post of India Post.
UPSC should also allow only Govt School Pass Outs because for Private School students private companies(corporates) are there...
