Good luck to her
by sameer pandita on Oct 13, 2013 08:57 PM

They do work hard and this is a noble profession . My wife is a Medico and I am a non Medico still I have lot of respect for these guys and specially the ones who sit in Govt hospitals . These guys must be given the highest authority in the Country instead of IAS and other services as they are the ones who keep the nation healthy .Unfortunately they are underestimated like teachers who build the character of this nation . Any ways good luck to her.

AT the end of the day, bureucrats are sub ordinate to very much less qualified politicians and are always their pet dogs till their retirement, but docs neednot require to stay like this.

is no longer lucurative as it used to be.
Unless ur parents have money and are doctors, or ur lucky to get ur practice running, u have more work than IT consultant and less pay with ONSITE opions as ZERO.

However if u want to serve humanity, please go to medical, if u want to feel "satisfied" this is the place to be.

by ramanathan mahalingam on Oct 08, 2013 09:33 PM

Some 30 or 20 years back there was ethics in Medical profession. Now they ask you to go for scan for each and every thing. They get 30 to 40/.commission frm the scan center, plus lab, particular medical shop, foreign trip with help of unscrupulous pharmaceutical firms.Miss Iyer should bear all this in Mind.

Unethical practices of some doctors
by harsha on Oct 08, 2013 03:20 PM

I appreciate her hard-work. Doctors have the right to earn more money for their hard and risky profession.

However, the unethical practices like -

1. Prescribing unnecessary repeated tests to patient thus harassing patients,
2.Unholy nexus of doctors with private labs. and forcing patient to do test in those labs only.
3.Forcing patient to purchase a particular band of medicine and from a particular medishop.

4. Demanding high amount for surgery, delivery etc.

the above trends among doctors are increasing. This may be due to many doctors have earned their medical degree from colleges unethically by paying huge amount may be in the tune of 50-60 lakhs..

Now days if poor fall seek, they will die because if they go to govt. hospital, they will die because dirty, insufficient and corrupt system..

if they go to private hospital, they will die because of heavy bills or unethical practices of some doctors..
