what is this guys...some people are saying that he has become slave of usa...if i also become narrow minded like these people then i will have to say that instead of working under any reservation category guy its better to go there and get respect

Is respect really measured in terms of money that u get??? then would like to know how much u respect ur parentss....... :)
Google can pay him or anyone Rs 100 crore per year...check their CEO salaries...u r teaching us how to bag offers, not really how to create...earlier v were slaves of the British n now he is a highly paid corporate slave...seems like bagging a high pay packet is the only ambition of the middle class...
Re: so what
by Ipsita S on Feb 03, 2013 02:11 PM
let's not be so harsh. We need all kinds of people. And they are a lot of people who want to bag job offers. So this is useful to them.
Re: so what
by Gayatri M on Feb 04, 2013 08:08 AM
nobody is a slave to them..... its all about selling & purchasing...... we have talent n hence we sell our talent & expertise to them @ the best price.... they want our expertise to get their work done hence they are buying it.....
Google can afford to pay him Rs 100 crores per year...check CEO salaries at Google, then this would be peanuts...but then once u have a good pay master then y bother about the rest of the world...you are teaching us how to bag offers not really how to create them...aneways, I guess its more of a hype than value when fresh grads manage to get such salaries...
i jst went through the comments from guys- most of them discussing the rent in usa and showing there knowledge about usa. guys i m also in usa and i work in newyork. its the most expensive place in usa. my package is just 75k and i save a lot still. so please if u r really in usa then u must know that this package is really awesome. rent of 2k or even 3k is nothing for this package.

Yes. I am rather curious has anyone refused an offer from Google or for that matter from any company in USA because of Rent? I always find Desi discussion hilariously interesting.

I guess you are missing the point? No one is saying tha package is bad, all they are saying is that considering the expense involved its equal to a fresher getting about 35 lakhs in India . Both will send up saving the same amount if expenses are taken into account. There are stars like him getting offers for 35-40lakhs as well in India and its comparable.
Rushabh - Congrats. I believe the offer is very good. At the same time, it is justified because of your talent that Google might have observed. Google is a great company and ofcourse they pay high for talented individuals. I believe Money is everythingand is playing a bigger role in life. Try to work hard and make good money.

he should thank you for warning him before hand about a possible setback. The gyan you just shared here with us is priceless.
1.16 crores, I guess is whole package - salary, benefits, stock options, etc. With that the base salary may be 150-160K. It's still very good package for a fresher. I'm happy for Saruabh and I'm proud of being BITSian.
I live in US and I made $205000 last year. Yes 2.05K. My wife also worked full time for 100K salary some bonus. Together we made around 300K. 34K of those for couples, 17K each goes to retirement savings. Employers make 3-5% extra match in those accounts. The money is available after 60. As such there is 33% flat tax on this income and 6.2% payroll tax(social security and medicare) on first 113K of income of each. California levies around 10% tax. I dont live in california. I managed to save around 120K or 60L Rs last year , excluding my retirement contributions. Even at this high taxes, this is a great package for a fresher. Even with $2000 rent, he will save a lot, he will take home about 10K. The companies in US do not have the CTC concept, so the package is most likely Base bonus stocks any other benefits such as health care insurance company pays. Usually healthcare costs are not included in the package but are extra benefits. Also know that petrol and BMWs are cheaper in US. At this package in 6 months, he can buy a BMW with cash down, no interest payment.

Boss... what is motto of life... minting money going abroad or contributing to society... I am shocked how materialistic we are... Always work for company or organisation which contributes in uplifting the society... I never understood what role Google will play in this... it has already done what is needs to be done... young kids search sunny leone and katrina the most rather than whats good for them at this age... Anyways... leave it

Why don't you take Sanyas and go to Himalayas. People like you have no place in this society. I dont know why Arabs make all this money to Hide behind Black and White Viel If everybody starts wearing only Black and White Veil then there will be no need to Textile Shops, Textile Factories. Also no need for anything Fancy like Fancy cars, Fancy tiles , Fancy Furniture etc. Go back to Stone Age. Lets make a country where there is no technology and send you guys all over there . Then you can live happily over there.

new technologies are definetly leading the sciety for the best... btb development is measured more in terms of thinking of people... after reading ur post I think u come from a very reserved & conservative place..... well as far as the children are concerned, its the duty of parents to guide them towards right path.... If they are using the technology for any wrong reason or any other reason than which is to be said, it is only because of lack of proper upbringing..... I think instead of blaming google n other companies, we should concentrate on the kids in houses.....

Contribution to a society which doesn't want you? If you are into IT, there are few cities u can go an work and in every city, 100 times in a year u r reminded that u don't belong here. Why would anybody want to live in a society like this.

did anyone say, it's all in your head!!
1000s of Indians and immigrants start companies and do very well, and I didn't see anyone of them complaining they are not needed. If that's the case, they wouldn't be able to do what they are doing. So chill and tell yourself everyday, you love this place.

Iqbal, With your statement of google used for searching sunny leone and katrina. I guarantee you will be chaprasi all your life may be before retirement they may promote you to clerk. It is good that you are not materialistic, with your affordability you would have been frustrated all your life.

Iqbal... google (as such Searching the web) is the single biggest game changer in terms of technology in the world. It's a great equalizer in the society.
As with any great tool, you can use it to destruct yourself or you can improve yourself. Choice is yours.
work in the valley and trust me that new recruits at Google, Apple etc. even from top US colleges including IITians with MS from top US schools dont get 200K plus right away.
You can see the information in sites like glassdoor etc.
Either the numbers are not right or perhaps these guys are better than top candidates from US (including IITians studying in US schools).
This is one exceptional case so that google would be in News otherwise there is nothing great that he has acheived or done. Most of the corporates today are nothing more than advertising agencies. Nothing really productive is coming out. Just pure and pain bullshit.
