by Naveen Shetty on Aug 23, 2012 12:36 PM

Reading from his recent articles and twitter messages it looks like he is going to take plunge into politics and expected to join BJP. Can someone confirm?

Stooped Reading
by sapan saxena on Aug 23, 2012 12:06 PM

I stopped reading when I reached the line about politics, policies and politicians. Somehow now, any thing in favour of politicians seems scripted. Chetan Bhagat may not be a literary genius, but surely loves India much more than your average Indians

Who is this author?

And whats being written here? I think only experience will teach this author that what she "thinks" she sees, is not what it is? And to back it up, she gives some ridiculous examples of standing in queues (aaargghhh)...and looking up to innovators...(aaargh..come on..you lil inexperienced one)!!

Pretty sure she will have an overhaul of her "perceptions" about what she thinks, feels and sees about this country of mine, India

Worse than Chetan Bhagat
by Zeng on Aug 23, 2012 04:23 AM  | Hide replies

Wow.. this madam from ISB Hyd beat Chetan Bhagat from IIM-A, all ends up! Coorupt politians are the only reason for all of Indias problems! What a silly, narrow minded, over simplified statement! And yes, the average Indian youth looks up to Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and Sunil Bharti Mittal. Really. Wonder if she has ever seen India outside business school.

Her observations like Indians queing up when outside India is again funny. Lady, they don't have any other option, do they? And why is that in India we have 20 people getting into already full bus and nowhere else? Why is that all Indians polititians are corrupt? Are they born that way, with genes for politics and genes together? It is the same system that makes them that way! A system that demands no transperancy, no accountability, no honesty, no morals. A system that ask them to push somebody ahead and don't care if he is pushing who is not eligible. Chetan may be wrong most of the time, but you have no idea what you are talking about!

Agree with your points.Indian youth is actually confused.Chetan has rightly said that young youth is not that much family oriented and actually wants a job and a GF.This lady has gone incorrect in lot of observations.

Indeed. She just made an even bigger fool of herself. I am no "chhota" Chetan fan :P But what she is arguing just highlights her ignorance of real India!

Spot on Zeng! Though I am no ardent fan of Chetan Bhagat, I found the article of this author quite fragile and lacking in substance. Could'nt agree with you more!

Bhagat is right!
by Rao Fakir on Aug 23, 2012 02:16 AM  | Hide replies

Blaming politicians and poltics of India for all its ills is as cliched and as useless as blaming Pakistan for every ill of this country....Politics and politicians are represntation of people....if people are corrupt, the politics will be corrupt.

I agree that politicians reflect people. Our greed is the most important factor leading to our misery! Does it, however, prove that Bhagat is right?

Chetan is clueless!
by Rahul Joshi on Aug 23, 2012 02:10 AM  | Hide replies

I liked his first few fictional books for the easy grammar and understanding. Then this mor0n became ignorant and allegedly righteous. What a bunch of bull! I used to think this guy has a heart but I was wrong. He has only brains, no heart in his messages. What a disppointment!

I particularly dont like his flair of writing (it may be simple enough for most of the folks to "associate" with, but not really appealing). I did read a few of his books, and i dont really think he is a m0r0n as you suggested, although there is absoultely nothing great about what he writes

I have not read the book...
by New Person on Aug 23, 2012 12:58 AM

...but kind of agree with the summary of the book as understood here.

Not sure, what the writer of this article means !!! First, what young India want doesn't mean what everybody want...its a representation of what majority want...and to that I do not agree with the writer of this article.
to summarize the last line itself, I have majority of example to show we ourselves are corrupt...so what's the point of the statement? just to feel good?
