I am not a businessman but somehow I do not see any business sense in bringing a scooter which is attractive just because of its colour and pricing it around 70000/-. It will not sell!! Some 'art lover' sort of people with throwable money may fall for it but with such a price this scooter cannot have sales volumes. Prices around 40000 - 45000, maybe even upto 50000 (but no more) might sell well, provide performance is excellent as claimed.

True. Agreed that vespa is known internationally and has certain USP's.But in competetion whatever uniquie features one has they can not make the price variation too much. It would have been ideal if the price is around Rs.50,000/-.

Vespa should note all these too high price quoted views seriously. Otherwise, if nothing goes well with the too high prices quoted, then the lowered image incurred may remain big backward steps for them due to the losses. The prizes of their contests and the best ideas submitted must be awarded certainly.
20K extra bcos it has some unique features and bcos of its heritage....let this guy keep it in mueseum...govt should take strict action against overpriced products like this....better to go with TVS Scooty which is much tough and light for girls,,,,
I just came to know that it has an average of 65 kmpl if that's true than i think that the price tag of 66,000 is ok. Scooters don't have so much average normally.

I just got mileage of 35 (thirty-five)in the city. My weight is only 85kg and single driven. Thinking of going to consumer forum for cheating.
The scooter is highly expensive. with all the other taxes included it will come on more than 70 thousand. If one really want's to purchase a two wheeler with that much of money, any wise person will go for a bike like pulsur or hunk or any other bike which gives an average of 50 KM/L and that too fall on the same price or just 4-5 thousand more. Personally I will never go for this scooter for >70 thousand...
The whole lot of scooters with auto transmission are having no control on petrol consumption. What the company claim and what ultimately we get on road is a big question. whether government can standardise on this (like ISI,AGMARK) to fix a tag and make the consumersw to sue the product in a court if it fails on mileage part. Also newly introduced bikes/scooter can think of something new by using CNG/LPG fuel. Then they can claim on premuim.ALL SOUNDS GOOD BUT BUKWAS IN PERFORMANCE.
THERE IS NO WAITING FOR ACTIVA (at least in this part of the country). It is readily available. So I don't think there is any competition with Activa.
We all are forgetting Hero Pleasure. The Vespa models are quite feminine & the Pleasure is also targetted at women. So the competition would be with Pleasure, Duo, Wego & Access. Activa has long lived...

After experiencing the response of Indian customers, the price is going to come down else they have to close the units, that is what the honda has to do with Jazz
