JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA
by Kanailal Chakraborty on Sep 15, 2011 04:17 PM  | Hide replies

Kindly note that Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, under the Ministry of HRD GOI is not functioning well at Nadia, Kalyani,WB. When the GOI has provided all kinds of facilities, students are demoralised due to non-cooperation of the Teachers of the School and in breakfast, lunch & dinner they are providing rice in three times. Wherein in JNV Howrah, there is a very good situation of studying by all teachers to the studnets but due to space problem last year all the XI students have been transferred to Nadia, WB wherein they are facing enormous problems and even two students have taken TC from there. Why Ministry of HRD GOI has not concerned in this matter and why the DM, Nadia is not tackling the situation promptly. Next year, all the guardians have decided not to send their children to Nadia, if the situation continuous.

School Ranking
by mugelo Fernandes on Sep 15, 2011 03:10 PM  | Hide replies

Today schools have become a money making racket. Lot of money is spent in advertisement and showing their education standards. These schools are more for higher status citizens and not for poor. Most of the schools mentioned belongs to the rich and I a sure there will be some ministers involved in sanctioning acres of lands for the campus etc. the govt. has forgotton the aided school as some one has rightly mentioned below, the missionary schools and catholic institutions which provide great service to the poor and the education quality is adequately good. Take the example of todays hero,Yuraj Valmiki who made India proud through his hockey. He lives in abject poverty with no doors for his house. Such are the people who stay in India and work in India and not the students of high ranked school as mentioned above. They will take a ticket to USA or other European countries. Many of them will be Marwaris and Gujaraties and Punjabies.

agreed. plus:
1. this ranking, i am sure, is paid.
2. how do you define 'good'? how many has gone to IITs, how many has gone abroad, how many are earning 6 figure salaries.... right? this is what needs to be changed. education is not just a mean to earn better living, but to serve the society better. this is the left-over of the colonial mind-set of the Britishers, which unfortunately is never target to b changed

Bad schools are actually good schools!!!
by shanti Patil on Sep 15, 2011 03:01 PM

The so called good schools with good teachers teach everything nicely and students understand everything from the book and score good marks but bad schools with bad teachers create problems in the mind of students. Some students solve the problems and come up in life. Look at the biography of great people and you will see thay have come from bad schools. Do you dare to send your children to bad schools?
