What's the bloody use?
by Pat Thakur on Sep 13, 2011 07:49 PM  | Hide replies

Even if they're grilled & groomed well into fine security personnel, it's useless cause they'll be puppets at the hands of Politicains & Bureaucracy.

Nehrus, Indiras, Sonias, Babus of this World will never use them against real enemies but only use them to create a show of aggression & then call off midway. In the process, they'll hype themselves as "Messengers of Peace" & market for Peace Awards. But the poor security personnel would have been betrayed & left for dead, never to be rejuvenated again.....

You are correct!I grew up in an army household and know that the armed forces are not at fault. It's the people that you mentioned who are responsible for the state India is in. They can get away with almost anything under Indian democracy. They can buy off uneducated voters to remain in power and loot the country and make it weaker. At least communist china and dictatorial pakistan do not have this problem. But such systems are not an option for India. Indian democracy needs to be tailored for Indian conditions - all democracies are not the same. The US system is different, which limits the president to 2 (4 year) terms in office and the Senate and Congress (equivalent to Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha) also have 4 year terms, with elections staggered by 2 years. Presidential elections take place on a fixed date every 4 years. This system may not be perfect, but it does not favour political dynasties such as in India.

There is still some professionalism left in the Armed forces despite the best efforts of dirty Indian Politicians. They gradually diluted the capabilities and courage of the armed forces by their dirty games of dividing and ruling them. Look at the audacity of the minister of state for defence, snubbing the Army chief about his date of birth. No other country on earth this can happen.Weak and selfish people are appointed in important positions by politicians so that they keep their mouth shut when the time comes. Indian Armed forces are slowly losing out!

Great going for young Indians to become true soldiers.

Our Country has lots of Dhananand ( cruel king in the age of chanderagupta)today they have become politicians and sucking the blood of poor people and their men are on Govt. seats doing corrupt business.

They are not leaders...they are followers.

They learn to take orders.

In future, they take orders from our politicians.

This is one scenario where we have no firing from enemies.. Even in this scenario we can feel their hardships.. Then in cases worse that this...? Perhaps our politicians should go through these to understand the pain our soldiers are enduring

Also make it compulsory for every IAS trainee to serve with Army for 6 months in field conditions. It will help them take the right decisions throughout their careers in air conditioned offices, later on.
