Wrong question
by Santa on Jan 05, 2012 06:34 PM

As always, media tries to add masa1a to sell the news. The question is NOT whether "all" crimes against women could be related to the dress worn by women. The question is how can we reduce the crimes against women. There are n number of reasons for these crimes, bad guys being one of them. No amount of strictness of laws and enforcement by Police can completely remove these crimes. Hence you can see these crimes even in countries with strictest laws, such as Saudi Arabia. However, the fact of the matter is that when you draw less attention towards yourself, you are "relatively" less exposed to crimes. Remember that we do not live in an ideal world where all men walk on the roads without looking at women. Even that 1 percent of bad guys makes a huge number. Hence, the so-called confident and modern women cannot say that they can wear anything and the men should not look at them. For that matter, even a man cannot go on solitary road with golden chains and watch, and say that the thieves should control themselves. To those who say that dress of woman doesn't matter, please answer this. Why do marketing folks (men and women) use skimpily dressed women to market their products, ranging from deodrants to bikes to cars?

freedom is my birth right

They exploit the freedom that they've acquired... Either it might be a stress management or risk management or financial crisis management we were instructed to always find an alibi to come out of it. But in the name of luxury and comfort they (women) place themselves in critical situations and blame the opposite sex. Are men the all time sex offenders?

The question we should ask ourselves is. WHY DO WOMEN DRESS "PROVOCATIVELY" ? The answer to which lies in the question itself.

Man attacks where he can succeed.
A naked woman in crowded area, no pervert can attack on her.
But a fully clothed woman can be attacked if she is alone.
Woman has freedom to wear anything, but they can not control feelings of a man. After all God made man that way to feel attraction in woman.

Most man can control themselves, but few can't. If few man are bad and uncontrollable, don't make all man culprit.

it is an invalid reason
by com on Jun 20, 2011 02:06 AM

To all the people here.... a man who rapes will rape even if the woman is a burqa and covered top to bottom AND if he knows he will NOT get punished he will do it whenever he feels the urge .... This is true for both woman and man. So the reason that a woman was scantily dressed should not be an excuse for a man to get pardon for a rape.
