Women's Dress
by Markandey Singh on Jun 19, 2011 10:16 PM

It is true that everyone should have freedom to wear whatever he/she wants like food. But food is basically internal matter pertaining to health of the person, while dress is external one and when the person is getting attracted by others and the safety of the person is in danger, then dress needs to be choosen carefully. As we choose cloth as per winter and summer(ie as per environment),it should be chosen as per Social Envirionment. If it is very well neceessary to choose some specific one, efforts should be made to change the mind set of the people, then only particular dress pattern should be adopted. It is seen that there is fast growing change in the dress pattern in our country as compared to last 10-20 years, specifically in women. What is the need/compulsion of such change, knowing very well that our social mind set is deteriorating.Simply copying European/American culture will definitely create problems in our social and personal life.

Dear Men,
Lower your gaze when your heart and mind wander.

Dear Woman,
You are free to wear whatever you want. Please make a mature choice.

Thanks,

No way
by Dhondu on Jun 19, 2011 06:35 PM

No way has dressing got anything to do with human behavior in character break down situation

How many of us actually stare at our sari clad school teachers when we were in high school or even before that?

In place like India 0.01% of total women population must be scantily or provocatively dressed but more than 50% of total women population get unwanted attentions which ranges from eve teasing to rape and this large chunk of women was not dressed provocatively

This issue needs to be addressed in social and scientific way at the school level itself and also the family values and morality play a big role in such character defining situations.

Do not blidndly imitating western countires dress code, imitate the good things, dont their bad things (in hindi films)the dress tells your dignity and family values.

If you expose too much, it means you neeeeed others attention (males)

Respect, dignity responsibility comes with the high family values both for men and women

If a man has got a good upbringing in any case he will not over power a person weaker then him be it a women, child or man to take the undue advantage of any form.

no, but dont expect that answer from indian men (i am lankan). have you ever met a decent indian man? In Lanka we fought a long war but we never killed or raped any tamils. Indian soldiers on the other hand were raping every other tamil women. So disgusting. We SInhalese have too much decency to be like indian men.
