love
by Krishna Lubricants on Feb 12, 2011 11:53 AM  | Hide replies

Love means long time commitment, which is only possible through wed-lock. How many couples are getting wed-lock on Valentine's day, if they really want to enjoy the true spirit of Valentine's day?

Last but not least, do we really require any special moment like Valentine's day, to express our love to our partner.

Anti-Valentine Sentiments
by Vijay Kolekar on Feb 12, 2011 11:49 AM

Basically, love is not a thing to be shown / displayed in public or to be shared with 1000s of persons. It is an intimate feeling between 2 persons & hence the show / display of affection with lot of display is totally against the needs. Further, don't evaluate the feelings of love by the gift / display of affection. The market people make un-necessarily big issue just for their selfish gains & cheat people.

YES... I don't like celebrating V-Day
by Gopala Krishnan on Feb 12, 2011 11:49 AM  | Hide replies

Because according to me love doesn't need particlular day to celebrate. If you love, everyday is v-day.
If the love is unconditional and if it is conditional it is NOT love.

Irrelevent event.
by Noojee Yhvh on Feb 12, 2011 11:43 AM

Till late nineties we never heard abt Valentines day. Then was popped up this event called V-day, only after brands like archies and expressions entered Indian market. Before that we used to buy greeting cards and gift items at just one tenth the price they offered. This was a sudden change when teenagers in India were lured by expensive gifts.
I wonder, didn't we people had any way to express our affections to our friends, family and beloved in our own methods? I am sure we had. In fact things were more raw and truthfull then.
This V-day, Mothers day, fathers day, sisters-day, and so on...... were brought to India just for sake of making money out of us. Not only this, these things are mis-interpreted by most of us. Once one of my friends told me that she had her first sex with her neighbour just to make him pick her up from college gate on V-day. Does this act fit to indian culture?

I emphasise that this is totally irelevent to our society.

valentines day
by MAHESH MAHADDALKAR on Feb 12, 2011 11:42 AM

It is being commericalised beyond all reason. If two people are in love they can express their feelings any time of the year. Why wait for V day?Does love actually increase by giving costly gifts though it may lighten your wallet considerably. This hype also creates insecurity in the minds of single or unattached persons and creates unnecessary tension in their mind.

this is a day of people fooling each others, a day when girls make guys, or sometimes the other way round, bakra and spend their money in cafe coffee day, pizza hut, multiplex, mall etc. just go around and enjoying watching youngsters duping each others. in fact the biggest gainer are the MNC's who promote this to dupe people by selling worthless stuff like cards/toys etc at abnormal price. so just enjoy the day
