There are good physiologic basis for it. After you eat food, part is coverted into glycogen and about total of 500 G of glycogen is stored in the liver, for ready coversion to glucose which is form body and brain utilize for energy.
After fasting 8-10 hours, the glycogen stores in liver are exhausted,and after that in order to maintain blood sugar levels, the liver starts converting body fat into glucose or sugar and you will burn fat and lose weight. People who eat frequently, even in small quantities will always have enough glycogen in liver and there would not be any need for liver to draw on and burn any body fat. Eating frequently even in small amounts may increase metabolism somewhat but the overall uncontrolled, unconscious increase in calorie intake may offset any advantages in increasing metabolic rate.
Exercise in a fasting state of more than 8 hours is the best way to lose weight fast and quick,of course combined with restriction in total calorie intake.
The author forgot one item which one should not take...the air.
It does not matter what you eat,but how much you eat. I have lost weight by eating just rice,dal and a Coke. As long as your total calorie intake is less than your basal metabolic rate i.e. the number of calories you are going to burn in 24 hours, you are going to be OK. The best way to increase your calorie consumption is to exercise. However,certain food are packed with calories such as almonds, walnuts,peanuts,sugary drinks and one should eat nuts,sodas,lassis with great caution and restraint.
Sudden precipitous rise in blood sugar must be avoided at all costs, like sugary drinks,white bread,pastas,rice etc.as the author has justly pointed out. Meat will not give you sudden rise in blood sugar, but would not cause you to get hungry as after eating high carbohydrate, fatty diet. Any time I eat Chinese food at a restaurant,I am already hungry by the time I get home.
Behavior modification also helps. Take your mind off eating. Don't wait or think about dinner time. Anytime one is stressed,depressed ,worried one tends to eat more. Eliminating stress, tension in life and a stable life style and a pleasant personality will go a long way in maintaining a slender waistline, which will substantially reduce the risk of heart disease and alsoimprove your sex life, as testosterone in blood stream is no longer being deactivated by fat in the abodominal wall.

Yes! as long as you are running at the same time and you don't drink what you put out. However,then you will have a swollen organ which will increase your weight and would cause you to see doctor who will charge you a lot of money because your life depends on it. This will get you depressed and you will eat even more and you will be back to square one.
