an sms joke recd says " when i was young and could only afford a 2 wh , the dealer removed the stand when i ordered for a carrier. When i asked him, he said you are in service....Either a career or "take a stand" both do not go together" If you take a "stand" you loose the "career"..... so true......And if you want a career, just toe the line......Forget this slavery and start your own small business.....
Vijay's concept is 100% correct. His book is what not to do book? All bosses must read it and meticulously avoid the 6 behavioral pattern mistakes.Bosses are not there for their own benefit or ego? They are there for achieving the goal of the organization?
There are plenty of space at the top, but what if this space is occupied by too many dumb and incompetent idiots?
Either they are lucky to be in the right place at the right time or are there by virtue of playing office politics or buttering the top bosses.
Every organization nurtures a group of good for nothing who are good only at pleasing their seniors.sadly, such people only hamper the organization's growth and the spirit of of its employees.
Moreover, such people are highly competent in the art of pleasing the top management by hook or crook, despite being completely useless and unproductive.
In an organization idiots have a peculiar quality, once they manage to reach the top, then they like to form a herd of similar idiots. They are very comfortable with their breed of similar idiots around them especially since they feel highly threatened amidst the wise and competent. They do everything to ensure that the competent people are kept busy in their own activities.
Idiots exist because they succeed in pampering the egos of many top management persons and in playing politics in their organizations.
Time has come to show the Idiots the door and save the Crumbling IT industry
Vijay Nair it seems, has tried to portray a very negative picture about boss-employee relationship in a funny and derogatory way. It may be a great read as far as providing a comic relief but hardly would help an employee in terms of real career prospects. Has the author provided any valid tips other than the usual and sarcastic ones like buttering? Let me check out the book and then comment further!

Sad part is the emotional tactics used by the author like saying that the book is a gift for himself and that is what inspired him to write.
If its truly a gift for himself, why sell it for money and try to get media exposure, why not give it for free? Why not admit freely that maybe it started out as a hobby but then decided to sell it for fun and profit?
It tells a lot about a person from how he or she tries to convey his or her agenda, this one is a typical facade of inspirational rubbish and not directly admitting that he wants to generate revenue for himself.
I am sorry if this is too harsh but most of the rubbish peddled out today destroys lives instead of enhancing it all because of the advices doled out by pseudo intellectuals.

i dont think he intends to help real career prospects. Not directly any way. The book is being marketed in the humour category. But may be after reading this book, the bosses will change for the better and people will helped in their career. It's a funny book not a self-help one.
Mr. Vijay,I strongly believe no matter a person how does he deals with his colleagues or team mates should not be judged by failure or success of efforts.
Example when you lead a team and take some initiative to reach your annual target incl client satishfaction, deliberable time, minimum error and revenue generation. is always thrive on challenges. Today your points may be back fired you but that doesnot means your other points taste you success.
"Failure is pillar of Success".
and, back to the point what author has raised, it makes feel sad that no matter how big your boss failed to maintain his position and workflow within team. But, a team mate cann't use those words"un imaginably dumb". Because, any where in the industry a manager does not take a decision on his own, he always consult with his seniors, team mates before implication made. So, if your boss failed miserably which means you as a team member also failed in that respect.
