If you r experienced, especially mid-level and above: 1. You will be rejected most times anyway. 2. If you don't look like a good slave, severe minus marks for that. 3. If you have nothing in common with hiring manager like college, region, language, hometown - severe minus marks for this. 4. If you look very bright to the hiring manager, very severe minus marks. 5. If you are technical person (software engineer etc.), you will be rejected often becz interviewer has no interviewing skills. If you don't know answer to his favorite question - its the end. Minus marks with comments like: 'doesnt even know basic' - this makes the interviewer look bright in eyes of colleagues and HR.
This is mostly true with desi companies and desi managers.
vikas made a big story on asking a pay raise. In any business, at the end of the day, each transaction in this world is quid-pro-quid. One should make the other to ralise how important he is for him (the boss/management in this situation). Then the raise will automatically follow. Any effort, with out ralising the requirement of the other side would be futile. Act according to the situation and prove your requirement and competence to the organization and to your boss.
Kurta pAIJAMA WOULD BE MOST suited while working because its very comfortable. one can maximize ons efforts when comfortable Business suit is a western-wear let the west wear it.

Most often Interviewers questions based only on the candidate's attitude towards his past employer and his past job and of course about his new job.Attitude is 90%knowledge is 5% and attire is 5%.

Attitude also implies the importance that one gives to the interview. With this logic, bride and groom can also be casually dressed if they have required virtues.
before you face the interview do some homework on the company, then analyse how u FIT in their company, now face with confidence, but dont try to prove that u know more than him, always keep a tacit smile
I am laughing all the way reading what a fool has penned down here. My dear, you forgot to mention that the interviwer see only your comfort level when he asks any question and even if you are 50% correct answering them he is happy. He is not expecting 100% correct answer unless he is talking to a very highly experienced or bright student. Its all about how confident you are and how you represent yourself to the situation... baaki sab bakwas.... chill man.....

It totally depends for the role I am taking the guy for. I am essentially looking for his skills and what he brings to the company and not his attire, unless it is a sales post.
