money does bring happiness.no doubt about it. but in India even half..ie 18 lakhs is enough to bring happiness.
even 12 lakhs,ie 1 lakh a month net income is good sum.
* also important is that you are doing work that you are enjoying. I have quit a few jobs even though the pay was gr8 bcos I didnt enjoy the work.

There should be a minimum income level so people can be happy. How you can expect a person to run a family with 3000 Rs in a city.

Happiness is

Tend to agree with 30-36 lakhs per annum being the most happy lots. Able to earn such money and having a mind to spend 50% on food, clothing, housing, car etc. and seeing the Bank balance grow by 12-15 lakhs per year gives me happiness, as te mind feels that future old age life is secure. Remembering HIM daily and believing that HIS Blessings combined with one*s own effort is paying rich dividents makes me happy.

After getting 30-36 lakhs per annum it's easy to remember HIM.
It's a miracle how the beggars remeber HIM. And thank HIM for HIS blessings.

HAPPINESS IS ALL ABOUT BALANCING SELF NEEDS & DESIRES
by mukesh gupta on Sep 09, 2010 10:20 PM

Our body consumes hence we need to deliver benefits (earn money). We need a ceiling in rain hence need to store stones to build one (store money). We need....

Desire is beyond all. It is obsession soon it crosses the practical needs. BUDDHA was happy without it.

TRUE HAPPINESS IS ALL ABOUT BALANCE. AND BALANCE IS IN YOUR MIND (ability to judge).

Rightfully People at both ends are less happier because one is short of needs and another is in the trap of obsession.

Happiness for short term

Are all the rich CEO are really happy.
The true saints like Bhudha was a rich prince.
and many of the saint are happy remaining aloof.
Thus happiness cant be defined by generalising its the goal whosoever decides for himself.

happiness is state of mind
by south indian on Sep 09, 2010 12:50 PM  | Hide replies

Happiness is state of mind. No amount of money can buy happiness. Money can bring material wealth, but what about mental health? A man earning meagre amount may be happier than a crorepati!

I disagree with you sir. A crorepati is definitely happier than any meager earning man. he has a security civer for all his basic needs and that is sufficient to keep mind comapartively settled. Ofcourse after a level money becomes meaningless but A crore is quite a good level even today.

Wrong-It can buy confort or luxry-which can lead to happiness but no essentially it can buy happiness, which comes and felt within ones own thought.
