Fitness

Physical fitness is a prerequisite for discharging everything. It ensures longevity and insulates for achieving more in whatever field they choose.

The simplest exercise towards fitness is walking. Take up walking at least one hour per day. First choose 15 mts and gradually increase it to at least 1 hour.

This is a cheapest and workable exercise in comparison to hitting a GYM. Absenteeism on some days to be taken sportively, and continuity to be ensured ignoring days of non-attending.

wishing all good walking and fitness,
alur sudhakar

Good walking,

The 1st 5 kilos are are shed easily as they are accumulated in the recent past. It becomes difficulat after that since that weight has been put on in the last many years. So it becomes a tough nut to crack. PERSISTENCE is the trick to apply here to knock off that stubborn fat.

Yes but there are different methods of dying. One is dying in the hospital on account of of cancer, diabetes, heart attack, etc. and the other one is dying peacefully in one’s sleep at a ripe old age of 75 (without any health problems). Choose your method.

The most important motivating factor
by timepass on Mar 24, 2010 04:36 PM

Just keep reminding yourself it will soon be over. Another 15-20min to go. I personally try to not look at the treadmill clock until after two songs. I seem to have more enthu towards the last 5 min than in the middle of an aerobic session. But it does feel great after the session - a sense of achievment specially when ur Ts are soaked wet in sweat.

Right balance between exercise and diet required
by kapil thaker on Mar 24, 2010 10:47 AM

All the benifits of exercise will be drastically reduced if we go on dumping high calorie junk food inside us or any food which contains lots of sugar and fat. Americans do lot of exercise but more than 50 % Americans are over weight and more than 30 % Americans fall clinically in obese category. We need to have right balance between exercise and diet.

good article

good article ,but all these hi-fi gym charge exorbitantly,, some simple rule to stay fit is one can walk for 30 - 60 min or jog daily for 15-20 min, climb a hill or stairs of building from ground level to top floor alternate days /week, add pranayam and 1 day in a week just relax for few minutes by closing your eyes and making mind blank and concentrate on your breathing ....It helps to de-stress..

you are right. Just exercise for vigourous breathing which will burn calories. Add pranayam to be fit. They help a lot.
